I've played only 1 game in a gigantic galaxy. Built 1 of each kind of ship just to see what they do. Battlehammer is definitely the way to go. It can on occasion kill an opposing battleship or two before it croaks. I definitely think the 90 hit points (It's over twice as many as a battleship) is too many. 60 or 75 would be more balanced as well as dropping its attack to 3 or 4 as well as bringing its maintenence in line with the frigate. That would bring the frigate into play.

LMAO so there's a war event if you stop espionage. I never thought to stop it even after reaching the highest level of knowledge. Good thing. And I have stolen tech. I don't know whether this was random or because of espionage spending. It occured via one of the minor races. They ended up getting it all and you end up having to trade with them for it. I traded planets for tech, then proceeded to smash the minor race. Never trust a traitor... Not even one you create. However, I di
I read somewhere where the 3-4 starbase per sector is going to be squashed via a change in that cummulative effects will be nearly eliminated.
Since you have the choice of which games to submit, the metaverse will never reflect the player's true ability. I would have much preferred it log the score secretly, and the next time you logged on, submit (every game completed) HEHE. You could lose 6 games badly, win one with 30,000 points and all the metaverse will show is the 30,000 points. Do you really think the guy in position #1 scored a 30k right out of the chute? I sure don't. And since score is a weighted average rather than cum
I've never had that problem. Mine is always that it grows too fast, then I have morale problems. But Populists get Pop growth you can pick it in ability picks, and there are tech's to get it up. Also, at the beginning of the game, you have to buy colony ships via the lease purchase option, load them with about 100m each and get 6 or 7 or so planets to start off. Then you keep up with the computer. And expand like crazy untill your borders are established.
HEHE NM found out the problem. For some reason, I had to already be connected to the net and the site before the submission screen would pop up. Now to go see If it made it.
I'm using 1.0 finished a game, big score, and there's no way to submit to the metaverse. Was this in the "Extra features" I was supposed to download but was too eager to play to bother with? Anyway, since that game's over, Ima downloading. Arrgh, now I have to dig up that jewel case with the code again. Pfft. :) Any help would be appreciated.
I just got a 52 in my game. did all the upgrades I could with no precurser event, no mods. v 1.0 81 would be cool. To combat morale, I did all the morale upgrades on my 52, then when a planet got sore, I just took a transport full of about 1000m to my pleasure planet. Solved that problem. HEHE.
Once I post my 30,000 points score, they'll all be ringing my doorbell with the cash offers. Yeah baby.
Really the issue is scoring and balance. It seems all are agreed that tech gets the most points merely because by taking so long, you have all the things that score more points. So the fix would be to issue a bigger bonus to winning faster. Also, they've figured out that bigger maps score more points. A simple fix might be to rank by category. But no matter what you do, someone will figure out some way to exploit the point system used. That's just the way it is. But right now, if
The Populists are quite popular with me. I don't have to worry about morale as much and can get on to the business of ripping aliens to shreds. I choose Tech and speed picks on the pick em table. This provides good balance in the biggest galaxies. I'd go with the war party in a small Galaxy, however, as the fighting comes quicker and happens more often.
I have a 42 right now. Took it over from an ai civ via cultural influence. Was already soil enriched and habitat improved, I terraformed it. Will go up further once I build "The Terraformer" wonder.
I'm in the middle of one that's as big as it gets. My first one for that matter. Taking forever but having fun and the end is in sight. The AI can't take me fighting so it's trying to out tech me. HEHE after seeing I was going to lose that battle, I'm totally culturing it to death. Gonna be close, however.
LOL You may go to bed now.
Wow. Perhaps many of you should have kept quiet and been thought fools rather than speaking out and removing all doubt. As for me, I'll choose the former on this subject.
Maybe I should take advantage of the support. I'm still playing the game right out of the chute, and now everyone's two versions ahead of me. I'm having so much fun (although given the last game I was playing was merely an exercise in hitting the turn button that may not be saying too much) I haven't wanted to take the 8 hours it will take on dial up to download. Do ya by any chance offer the updates on cdroms for a marginal fee? And do you have to get each in sequence or will the 1.03 cove
Thanx Ray. My problem isn't picking the neutral option too much, My problem is I just like killing off those worms (planetary quality bonus of 30%) which undoes about 10 good pix too much. I'll just have to be more repentant next time.
Good analysis. However, I wonder if that would still hold true on say a quality 15 planet to start with. I suppose the outcome could be different if your population were up against the planet quality barrior so to speak. I usually build the in first simply because it's a cheaper build while output is low for a new colony.
I'm in the middle of a game. In reality, if you hover around 50 (and make an effort to do so, you get nothing, but if you vary up and down (say between 70-30) you get some special techs from each. Other than that, the pure evil empires declare war no matter what I am whenever they darn well please. Careful in your sliding however. If you slip too far towared evil, the chaotic good races will declare war. If you slip too far towards good, there's not much consequence as the evil ra
Uh oh. Deja-vu. A glitch in the Matrix. Steady boys, first one to find a way out of here gets Trinity for Desert after we eat that oatmeal looking slop. Sorry about that double post. I got a white screan the first time and assumed it didn't post. How does one delete one of em?
Vridian: I disagree slightly with that. You have to look at both the publisher and the developer. The MOO3 project went awry very early (in hindsight) Total lack of communication between dev and pub. Total lack of communication between the dev team and users. Total lack of communication amongst the dev team itself. Total lack of planning on the part of both dev and pub. Started out way too grandiose, infighting and terminations, as late as april 3 years in, had to mega scrap and ne

Your 2 stars may be telling, but this is even more so: sales of PC games. In about a month and a half, Moo3 has slipped to 61. LMAO MOO2 is at 49. Even the original Starcraft is outselling it!!! A total illustration of what not to do when releasing a video game is MOO3. It's Garbage. Great concept. Lets eliminate this tedius Micromanagement but introduce an even more tedius UI in its place!!!! I just bought Galciv, am playing on what amounts to "Tard" level just to get a feel for
