G.R.O.S.S. is now formed. Join by the weekend and you can be a senator. After that you must prove you are worthy by having 5 games with a Pure evil ranking or lower. We are a demonic empire bent on control of everything. Though it is not a requirement that we get rid of slimy aliens (those we do not kill must be welcomed into the empire as the worthy slaves they are) Primary motto Get Rid Of Slimy AlienS Secondary mottos 1. Where being good is but a temporary strate
Captain Jack Sparrow
Hey Frog you mean they've adjusted that now too? Coolios. Ahhh support, the lost and now found art of computer games. Bring em all down to my stinky score level. Yeah!!! P.s. Coffee, you might join my new G.R.O.S.S. Get Rid Of Slimy alienS empire. Once you get the new version, and it records allignment, only 5 demonic games to be a senator!!! LOL
You bet ya. And slamming other empires around too. Letting em know who the real boss is. US. (all in good fun) Of course in some games it will be necessary to play the good guy only to fool the slimy aliens for a time. But in the end, you know they'll be welcomed into Gross, as the worthy slaves they are. Hehe. LMAO I better go create it before it's taken.
Ditto's here. Although spying and destabilizing on minor races has never worked for me. I assumed, maybe incorrectly? that you can't. It's kind of annoying to click on talk to above the torian pic only to get the minor race. But I just click down the bottom and bring up the right one. A minor annoyance.
Russel yup. But you must be careful not to lead it too close accidently to another ship or starbase like I did or boom toast.
I would like to create a new empire, and have some people join. We would create a name and/or change it as time goes by. I suggest Calvin's Gross acrynm if it's not already used. Get Rid Of Slimy alienS. HEHE Is anyone interested or should I just forget it and join one of the bland boring named empires?
I think if a planet doesn't have anything in it's social cue, the social spending ought to be divided between the planets that are left. Then of course you run into the cheesy of spending it all on one planet and building that 30 turn wonder in a turn problem. But does each planet have a "Build capacity" ? If not, then leave the system the way it is. If so, then if the result of the spending goes beyond the build capacity, It is lost thereby eliminating the cheese tactic above. Just my t
Ahh the worm. It's one of the monsters. I got the shark myself. The shark pretty much runs through, does what it wants, But it's so slow it takes about 15 turns before it actually gets anything. I park a ship just within its attraction range but it just can't quite get to it. It keeps chasing that ship around. You have to be careful to stay away from starbases and such or it smacks them instead of going after your ship. But it repairs itself mega slow and you can wear it down. Try it on
Coffee: Up the size of your galaxy. Femap: They are in the process of adjusting some of the old scores to the new specs. They already tossed those that obviously couldn't happen. Takes a bit of time. Coffee: Oh and I too have no specs on my first score. I played a game then updated to ver3. You'll get your specs posted then. And it is not at all made clear you have to go on line before you hit done on your final score screen to be taken to the submit screen. Perhaps they'
LOL now we know why the rebate. http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/new-for-you/top-sellers/-/videogames/229575/videogames/0/0/4/ref=pd_ts_pg_4/103-6197846-8513454 LMAO #93 in just two months of release. Dropping faster than our stock portfolios.
It's worth the 10 bux just to see if they can get it patched. There's a kernel of a good game in there just waiting to come out. Crying shame they let that thing out in the shape they did just to get what they could when they could out of it. They should take a lesson from this team over here. That's the way to do it.
Actually my inviso ships usually appear next turn. It seem's the fog of war doesn't move with the ship movement at times and the ship gets lost in the fog. It "catches up" at the turn change.
Ahhh Echo I see. I have a p3 6oo coppermine (the latter series with the on die cache), 128 mg ram 64 mg (non shared) video card but can understand the will it work issue. For the record, my system is minimal on the box specs (below the recommended actually) and I was a bit worried, but figured I could go do work while the turns changed. Much to my pleasant surprise, the game has run absolutely smoothly with no bog downs even in later games on gigantic galaxies. So from personal experience, U
I've found leasing OK but research to the first speed tech right out of the chute in a Gigantic Galaxy. (I think it's 3 actual techs to get there. That leaves me enough to start with a 6 or 7 planet starting base and by the time I'm cranking more ships, Even though my ships start out behind, my citizens give a friendly wave as they pass the slower other races ships on the way to the planets.
I'm still a little confused as to how this overall spending is divied up planet to planet and how a +20% production on one planet works within this framework.
Specialization still works wonders. Certain things (cultureal resistance) aren't needed at all in safe sectors. You can virtually ignore them. Build them only in border sectors and only when influence is farely close. Toward the end of the game if you are out culturing everyone, you don't need em either as their colonies are revolting to you. As to % do they round or truncate? For example do they count a bonus that produces 2.6 more units of something a 2 (truncating the .6) or a 3 (roundi
I just picked it up for 10 bux. I figure 10 bux is good enough to see if the first patch does anything. Then after I discover it still is inferior to Galciv, I'll just put it on my other machine for company to play freeing me up for Galciv. LMAO cha ching!!! There is no comparison. Complete Disaster is Moo3, Message boards, product, support. All a complete disaster. There is nothing more to say on the matter. And if they give MOM2 to quicksilver, I'll definitely not preorder.
Vern: Clinton actively participated in writing his own speaches. Bush has admitted, he does not all that much. That is the reason he stumbles, not the absence of a teleprompter. Like I said, at least he's smart enough to let everyone else run things and come along for the ride. Of course that has its drawbacks as well.
I like the Idea of letting the player play on and achieving trancendence, but mark it as a loss and deduct points accordingly for each race that gets there first.
You can get away with it once or twice, then the AI will demand the starbases or declare war. My cheesy tactic is when I want to build an early wonder, I give the minor race the tech, let them build it, then blast em. LMAO.
Careful Commander, that's Freya's first line in the come to the dark side, join the Euro-Alliance empire pitch. If you live in the States, Lets create a Yankee federation or California Republic and destroy this upstart Euro Alliance. I'm not too keen on a name like Galactic Fed though.
Thank QuickSilver for putting out such junk. If they hadn't, Galciv wouldn't be all that popular. I knew it was coming out but I'd have never given it a second thought. That being said, that's not why Galciv got popular. If it were just as bad, or merely average, It would have gone into oblivion too. The Galciv team is reaping the benefits of not only doing it right, but going above and beyond what everyone else gives in the way of support. I've never been this happy with product and su
UCLA Vince: LMAO even though I disagree. Bush, SR was the worst ever. Dubya not even close to his ineptitude. Despite his totally cocaine fried brain, Dubya is at least smart enough to know to let everyone else run things all the while memorizing just enough of what everyone writes for him to say just to get by.
Ahhh but you see Lord, I'm a lazy emporer, And it looks like I'm one of the few that got a no battlehammers version. After this game, I'll get the latest 1.03a. I'm really not unhappy actually. It brings other ships into play strategically. But I did think my story humorous.
Now that's a research assistant I'll never send to the Lava mines.
