"People People People. We all knew there'd be rule changes. But all a rule change requires is a change in strategy. That's all. The game remains the same. He who has the power, wins...." Oh what's the world coming to. I'm quoting the coach from Rollerball (The original and good one, the recent remake stank)
Captain Jack Sparrow
That's the point of the game. It's reality. Can the U.S. government afford every single social project it "can" do? No. It forces you to specialize or just plain do without some things. That's economic reality. That is one way this differs from the civ series. You could usually build nearly everything in every city and never truly face the economic problem. Civ3 cheesily used corruption to try and remedy this. It didn't work. I think this is one area these guys got it absolutely right.
It was done to eliminate the holding back on meeting the victory condition and building boku population to more reflect playing ability. I got a low score my first game because once I was about 10 turns from the end, I hit the turn button 10 times and won when I could have delayed it and upped pop and scoring stuff dramatically. The scoring scale should reflect diminishing returns for cheese tactics like that. Kudo's. But then again it's not like scoring means a whole lot when you
I've noted that if you post your version os and system specks as well as your problem, most problems get worked out right here. And if support is bad here, there is no such thing as good support.
What now Judu my faithful assistant? It's our Battle Hammers Lord, they seem to be missing. What!!! 150 Battle Hammers!!! The Enterprise, the Hornet, the Lexington, Defiant, all missing, wtf happenned? Hit by a strange weapon. Some blasted precurser thing.? WTF is it called. Start talking or you'll be in the Lava mines for sure. It's called a nerf. You mean to tell me a little foam childrens toy from the 20th century took out all our Batt
I have the 5% green thumb ability. I've found 13-14 to end up being fairly productive. But you can't do too many at one time. They suck resources untill brought up to 15. And a lot of the time, you get the Kill the worms=+30%pg on them anyway. Bwahahahahaha all the better.
The Drengin are tough at first but just throw them a bone or two. They are easy to out tech. Once that is accomplished, extract your pound of flesh. The Torians, on the other hand, are a much more balanced adversary.
Mass boycotts merely for what someone says are fascist. It's exactly what the Nazi's did before they came to power. I think it's total idiocy to pay attention to what a star says either way. I'm not boycotting Bull Durham (the second greatest sports movie ever) over Susan am I? Now if she'd done something like Michael Jackson and his Mikey Club if you get my drift, Or actively encouraged crimial activity, or given her kid a mullet, that's different. But boycotting people for what th
I would have preferred the Hammers go down to about 50 or 60 from 90, leave the attack and defense where they are, and up their maintenance a bit but I'll try this out when it comes.
Why shoot a perfectly good slave? Send him to the mines.
Oh and P.S. Go Mighty Ducks!!!! Clipped those Red Wings, now we're making has beens out of the stars. Now who couldn't root for Mickey Mouse and his team?
Perhaps, to deal with the rising Euro-Alliance menace, you should form a "New World Alliance" to cover all of North America and South America.... Just a thought. Then once they are defeated, we could welcome them in....... As the worthy slaves they are!!!! HEHE. GalCiv: Where being good is merely a strategy.
Score more points? Then you won't be in 1031st :) I just couldn't resist.
Bobo say man who STILL have mullet is bumpkins. Amen Bobo What about those that give their kids mullets bobo? Obviously, these people had Dixie Chicks albums, paid good money for em, and liked em. Thus, now suddenly they don't like em merely because of what the Dixie Trailer tr...er chicks said. Now that is dumb. I think what they said and their subsequent backpeddle are both lame. And I think that one hit wonder Charlie Daniels ought to take a
Save yourself the inevitable head bashing you will give yourself after you realize you delayed your enjoyment of a great game by waiting for the demo. This is not Moo3. Just look at the support. Two full patches already out on a game that was infinitely more playable out of the box than Moo. You have Frogboy and the like constantly on teh forums helping out. And it's only 35 instead of 50 too. Buy the thing already.
Ha. The Poor babies on the starbases. I have seen no pleasure palaces complete with their brothels and the like on starships..........
Yeah Frogboy, that 31000 was an eye opener. LOL I have yet to figure out how to get the big scores other than play a big galaxy and do the tech win. I just upgraded to 1.03 today. It seems mucho harder.
I had a 4 star cluster in the corner once and the next nearest star was over 7 full sectors away. That was definitely a control n. But if you have a reasonable cluster to start out in, the corner position isn't all that bad. It's easily defended and you can build up social stuff to start converting your enemies.
Thanks Frogboy. Was wondering how some of those way high scores could happen. I was also wondering if those Library mods could affect the scoring such that it wouldn't pass the cheat filter.
John Doe I here ya. Just as the Iraqi's are nervous about U.S. troops protecting them. It's no different. Although a reasonable time ought to be given to get gifted ships out of their space. And I do think gifted ships ought to retain their base characteristics instead of reverting to those of the new owners.
One thing I also do is make 3 good ships like the Hero, send them around pick up stuff, and by the time dreadnaughts come out, I've got 4 excellent ones (even superior to the dreadnaught) ready to go!!! I use Defenders early, Battleaxes, Battlehammers, Battleships, and Dreads. Once Dreads come out, no more battleships as dreads are better and cheaper to build. Definitely needs some of the tweaks I suggested above to keep other ships in the game.
Thanks Cari. I was just curious as to why it didn't show that I won and how now. But Mike says it's the version. Aha!!! found my CD.
I've been meaning to do that. Wanted to get my game finished first. With none outstanding, I'll do it now. Unfortunately, my wife served her Godly purpose of tormenting me by cleaning my computer cave and moving my CD jewel box. When I find it, I'll do just that.
I've never been beyond that funky color scheme. Even at 52. And the "Garden of Eden" description remains as well. Just for fun, I colonized a class 3 world just to see what it would say. I punched description and it said "A pathetic planet to say the least...One citizen called it the 'Hell Hole' of the Terran Alliance. One wonders why it was colonized in the first place."
Thanks Vorlin. Every program I've run has an auto connect feature. This one didn't obviously. If you hit done on your stats before you connect the game terminates. It doesn't even ask you if you wish to connect and submit. It merely goes back to the main menu. It's only when I finished, alt-tabbed out connected, and got here that the submit function even came up. No worries though. Although I won the game via cultural domination, I was rated as Saintly, and none of this came up i
