Sun??? What's a sun? :notsure: ~SDC~

I deleted the saved game. But here's another CTD: Stardock SmartException Logging Information ------------------------------------------- OS Version : Windows XP Video Card : NVIDIA GeForce4 MX 440 (Microsoft Corporation) Application Exception code: C0000094 INT_DIVIDE_BY_ZERO Crash Addr: 004DCA2A 01:000DBA2A C:\Program Files\Strategy First\Galactic Civilizations\galciv.exe Processor Registers (x86): EAX:00000000 EBX:7FFDF000 ECX:00000023<b
Also it might help to have the 'User Defined Playlist' option set to off. It helped me before to restore my music (it might help you). ~SDC~
I concur as well. It would be nice to auto-launch also on a galaxy-wide setting. ~SDC~
At the end of your game, whether you win or lose, you should get a option to submit to the metaverse, just provide a valid alias, and your e-mail, click 'submit', and there ya go. Then you can go there and search for your alias you used and check your score out there. ~SDC~
I've built nearly 200 TS's on a gigantic map, and never used them :notsure: . They can be effective culture bombers to get planets to defect to your empire. As a good sneaky tactic, build all the constructors you need, move them next to your enemie's star systems, (make sure you have enough $) and build all of your TS's in one turn and eliminate their planets :) . Welcome to the fourm, hope you enjoy the game! ~SDC~
Soil Enhancement, Habitat Improvement, and Terraforming should considerably help in bringing up your PQ. Also, if you get a event when you colonize, and there's a option to improve planet quality...go for it. That is, if you're not the evil type ;) . ~SDC~
The auto-launch shouldn't give you problems :notsure: . Are you sure you have enough people on your planet, that you are launching your transport from, to load onto it? ~SDC~
Hmmm, I would try uninstalling the game, updating your DirectX 9.0 to 9.0a, then update your video and sound drivers (also goto the manufacturer's website for updates). I would also go to http://www.windowsupdate.com and update your OS. Keep us posted on what goes on...you also may want to try posting on the 'Bug Report Thread'. ~SDC~
I have the latest patch v 1.03A.057...Not to be redundant, but I can confim what airwreck said: I get the alliance win screen, but I get culture win text. The metaverse confirmed my win to be alliance. To me the only problem is that the alliance victory is displaying the wrong text at the end of the game. :( ~SDC~
Even with a maint. cost of 5, shouldn't SB's pay for themselves anyways by constructing those trade modules? ~SDC~
Yep :) . Good luck though with you economy... ~SDC~
In a game I went from Demonic, to a Saint. :notsure: ~SDC~
errr... ~SDC~
Before you know it, your game will crash ;) . ~SDC~
You prolly need to research transports. ;) ~SDC~
Btw... Za H, Concerning your question on background loading, here's what the readme.txt file says: ## Performance Options ## If you have Windows XP and either a very fast machine or a machine with Intel Hyperthreading(TM) you can increase the loading of the game by turning on "background loading" in the main options. This allows the game to load itself while you are viewing the intro movies and choosing game options. There is an experimental feature in
Speaking of hyperthreading, how so I find out if I have hyperthreading? ~SDC~
Go here http://www.galciv.com/download.asp, and click on stardock central to d/l. ~SDC~
Just think of it this way: they're saving those planets till you are ready to use them ;) (*cough*war*cough*). ~SDC~
Turning on background loading can help speed the game up. ;) ~SDC~
There's a good interface?!?!?! (Wow, I guess I really am evil, lol) ~SDC~
I pick creative tech., and I honestly don't know what it does either (but it looks cool :D ). I think it might give you some of them precursor events that a lot of the other alien races seem to get. ~SDC~
I'd advise playing on a small or even a tiny map to get the hang of it (IMHO). ~SDC~
You launch them the same way as you do with your colony ships. If you have v1.03A.057 then you should see a 'auto-launch' option towards the bottom of the screen when you click on your planet (it's that screen with your social and military projects being built). ~SDC~
