Hmmm, GalCiv seemed to have cost me more than just the price of the game. I think on average I go through nearly a pack and a half of cigs. while sitting here playing GalCiv. Thats nearly triple of what I usually do! I don't care if I die early, just as long as where I go has GavlCiv and SDC, I'll be happy :) . Oh and I started to pick back up on drinking as well...(yea, I can see where that's gonna go...). ~SDC~

Ok I went through device manager and updated everything...amongst a few things that were actually updated, my video drivers was one of them, so I might be in luck with that :D . Tonight when I get off work, I'll go site surfing to find more updates, and manually update some more divers if they need them. I'll keep you all posted on what goes on. In the meantime I'll c/w troubleshooting. ~SDC~
Thanks Midnight, that solved the music problem. The last thing is that big crash I had. Speaking of it, I dunno if this other bit of info. would help, but I decided to play a little Civ3, I alt+tabbed out of that game, and while I was working out of it, my comp. 'atuo'-reset again (Its happend quite a bit when I played Civ3 on my old comp., just figured this might be worth mentioning). ~SDC~
--How often do you have the game set to autosave? You might be able to salvage something. I never do. Comp. Specs: 2.53Ghz Pentium 4 640 MB DDR SDRAM Geforce 4 MX 440 video card Sound (no sound card added, I have whatever came with the comp.) Windows XP Home Ed. DirectX 9.0 I bought this comp. brand new, about 2 weeks ago. If there's anything else I missed let me know, I'll try to find it. Also to add one more thing, I get sound in GalCiv,
Yea, that's the bad thing, I made nearly 200 TS's, and errr, I didn't save before the game reset my comp. :sniff!: ~SDC~
Today is the first time I have seen it happen on my new computer. On my pervious one it happened a lot, but I got a new one (for other reasons). The problem? Well I had decided to alt+tab out of GalCiv to take a small break from my hard work of building some 200 TS's (yea, I have a lot of time on my hands)...everything has been going well, in fact I've been alt+tabbing out the the game on occasion all day. Other than the rare lock-up/crash, everything looked fine. <br
I had that same problem. I would try to destabilize a minor race, but when I clicked on a major race the funds would be transferred to the first major race I clicked on :( . (It seems like a bug to me...) ~SDC~
That random event is supposed to increase a random attribute of that race +1/turn (from a earlier post I have read). So I could only speculate if you actually did let it go long enough, you would get wiped out :notsure: . ~SDC~
Also make sure the UP didn't vote against using Terror Stars, or else you can't build them (or use any pre-existing ones). ~SDC~
I have had GalCiv since early April (me thinks). There's one thing I have to say about it: I love it!!! I'm a MOO2 vet., and I have played a lot of Civ3 (in my opinion GalCiv seems to be sorta a combo of them both, but better). Well MOO2 was much better than Civ3 (once again, just my opinion), and when I heard from a friend about GalCiv, I was reluctant to buy it, but I got it anyways, and I am VERY impressed with it. I haven't got MOO3 yet (so I can't compare GalCiv to it). Yet the
From what I have read before, this forum format isin't going to change, and its planned to stay the way it is...to the best of my knowledge. The only thing I remember Brad talking about was something like a e-mail notification if your post(s) were replied to (and a couple of other things). ~SDC~
Hmmm, I have had a similar problem myself. But I wouldn't even see a slider, so I just used the arrows...then when I went back and clicked on a race (other than a minor), it would appear that the money I had put into destabilizing (or espionage) the minor race got transferred to any of the other major races I clicked on. :notsure:
