Okay what I think I learned from all this is that my 4.5 year old CPU is good enough for this game/benchmark in its current configuration because DX12 uses the CPU more efficiently. As such, my bottleneck is my 2.5 year old video card. If I got one of the high-end cards, Then my CPU would likely be the bottleneck. T

The CPU test with the latest build is just weird, it shows the result the same way as the Full System Test (instead of a CPU test from the previous versions), except the percentage GPU bound part, and the graph (which is also weird). When I run a cpu test, it seems everything is moving/flying/shooting/etc. much faster than with Full System Test. Also, the benchmark crashed for me, with the latest Catalyst (15.10), but that is probably a driver issue, since it's fine with 15.9.1.

Your cpu should be great, especially under dx12. It is either your gpu or something is wrong with your pc.
It's definitely a boost, but not a boost like I would expect. I was expecting along the lines of 200% - 250% increase in performance.
FX cpus have pretty weak/slow cores, to expect 200% difference against a Phenom II X4 is unrealistic.
tatsujb: If you have Win10, you should try DX12 CPU test in my opinion. ASADDF: Excuse me, sir, but could you tell me if you have any overclock on your CPU, or is it at stock/factory settings?
Here is my overclocked fx8350 at 4.5 GHz.
Thanks, for this build! My fx cpu is doing twice the average fps than with 0.50! [e digicons]:D[/e]
It seems to me, intel cpus can do much more fps in those scenes where like 5 ships are flying around, and similar scenes.
It seems from the log file, dx12 eliminated my cpu bottlenecks (fx8350), so I don't have to buy another cpu for a while.
The i3 is still faster under heavy load. Oh, well, time to buy another cpu and motherboard.
One of the major advantages of dx12 is to properly utilize all cores, isn't it? Then how can a i3 4330 beat an FX 8370? I tested it with my oc'd fx8350 and r9 290 and got very similar results myself as well.
fx8350, r9 290, Windows 10 sry i sent it twice
