Hi, please try "Fix icon spacing" and log out / log back on. Loose desktop icon positioning is a Windows setting. Per my colleague's comments above, I'm wondering what the icon spacing is like on desktop with Fences disabled? We've made adjustments to spacing logic to fix issues on systems that have undergone DPI changes, so looking to make su

Hi cag_dk, if you still have your F6 license and/or wish to start a trial, I think we may have fixed this. There was a pretty clear "two systems fighting eachother" issue that found its way into the last release. Feel free to try the beta at this link https://stardockcorporation.sharepoint.com/:u:/s/software/IQC6v4VusCvVTYVKBNfWZqyDAbkG_KTrb6DEN33aindl67c?e=cia2

Hi slamani, You can do this today by enabling the setting from Explorer, within its options panel Though, we are looking at finding a way to add this so you can enable it on the desktop only. Does the above take care of it, or are you looking for desktop only, not "all of explorer"? Thanks for your thoughts

Thanks for the report, noted. Yikes. If you'd like to use the functionality About → Troubleshooting → Create troubleshooting report, we can take a look at your settings just in case anything jumps out. We're going to look to see if there are any conditions that might cause this. Please hold!

Hi Elizabeth, Was this "Scanner Folder 2001" inside a Fence group, and it got renamed while hidden? Was this group rolled up or otherwise scrolled off screen? It sounds like multiple things got renamed? What triggered the action, do you know? Was it "Create New Folder" and then renaming that new folder, or just a rename of an existing file/folder? Thanks for the information

Ok! We'll have to take a closer look at this, as it seems like it has been this way for a long time. I.e. running Fences 5.00 does the same thing. So, will have to give it a think about what to do with this. Not to say "can't fix", but, should definitely take caution as it will impact a lot of people to make any change, and, possibilities of things going wrong. Tricky, as it if started excluding icons the very moment there was overlap, then it would be overly aggressive about doing so

Hi jeffis, looking forward to figuring this out. It seems sortof like those icons are cut off by a Fence group that is overlapping them. Is that the case? I'm guessing NVIDIA1111 is on the general desktop, and VLC is in a group. And guessing it might just be black background on black background, so it looks like it's cut off, but really it's just obscured? <img src="https://cdn.stardock.us/forums/6/50/650776/991e4ae8-ec3e-4618-9622-91b848d2a060.png" alt="" width="152"

This would be cool. It definitely cannot do this because the icons only appear on the desktop once. We've considered before adding ability to "convert" a Fence into a Folder Portal, in which event you would be able to duplicate. But, a downside would that if it were a Folder Portal, manual ordering is not possible – i.e. it would have to be alphabetical, or date modified, etc etc. This might not fix your use case as result, but, might this get close?

We're continuing to update Version 5 with all back-ported bug fixes, and just released a new major update to it last month. So, I'm not sure I follow. We encourage you to find something that works for you if ours does not, but of course are always hoping to do a good job such that you're feeling our software is worth $10 per 12 months of usage, so that we can continue to reliably fund development. This issue is a complex topic, with a complex solution. It might not seem like i

Hi dod, thanks for bringing this up. Indeed- it was a scant used feature (and a destructive one at that), and so it was removed some years ago. The team is always open to hearing about new use cases however. At minimum, an idea that comes to mind might be "shift + click" reveals this option, might be a possibility to bring this back. (Unintuitive, but, perhaps you might have found it?) In particular – we'd love to hear more about you usage, if you'd have the patience to

Yup there is a bit of a natural upper limit to the corner radius. If it exceeds the size of half of the size of the titlebar, you'll start to see visual fragments when it is rolled up, or in tabs, etc. @helios.kc sounds good. Feel free to share a screenshot so that we can see how it ended up! Cheers.

Hi coprof, Could you check to see if these directories exist on your system? %appdata%\Stardock %appdata%\Stardock\Fences If not, could you try creating and seeing if the issue is resolved? If so, we'll have to see about putting additional checks to ensure it exists at this point, as it should have been created by then. Thanks for the help

Hi Crash28 and others. Per previous posts, we believe we've gotten a handle on this issue. We'll be porting the fix to Fences 5 as well, but the beta link for this in Fences 6 is here: Fences6_6.5.2.7-j136-Setup.exe Hopefully this takes care of it, but if not, continuing to hope for latest debug logs. Thanks</
