upeters: very very odd! Thanks for the video, yeah, that is certainly strange. Well lets take a shot at figuring out what's going on. Can you package up your ObjectDock settings files and mail them over to support? Make sure you reference it as a v1.9 bug to make it easier to find. You can get at your ObjectDock settings by going to the "Troubleshooting Options" area, and selecting the third button from the bottom that says "Open my ObjectDock settings folder so I can backup my settings". <b

Si OrdesI - please refer to the other thread We're hard at work with our partner AccuWeather adding support for more and more cities with our service - just workin out the kinks in the data transfer. Thanks!
Hi everyone! Just so you know, its a brand new weather backend on our servers, so we're still working on that for international locations. If your location doesn't work right now, don't worry we're working hard in conjunction with AccuWeather to get *all* available locations up and running! A note also about locations: right now it can be a little finicy about what you put in. Particularly, if you'
MontyXP: we did see a problem with that on one of our test boxes. Good news is it's fixed Now that 1.9 is getting real exposure we're finding a few little things we missed an fixing them promptly Also yeah Excalpius youre right... JukEboXCreaTionS: you have task grouping on. You'll want to go into the pro
Darken: Because in Vista, the Programs Files folder can often be completly locked down, by default. As result we've been forced to move settings to the user's data folder, and wanted to go with consistent behavior. I figure better to put this information in one place that is accessible vs. hidden away in an appdata folder.
jtherrien: unfortunatly I'm pretty sure there's a way around that :-/ Show Desktop I'm able to work around even though that does some certainly goofy stuff...but Flip3d is at far lower level than i can reach. Though, for tabbed docks if they're not always on top and you have them set to show in the taskbar, I think that they'll show up!
So that thing I was talking about in my post yesturday night about the previously-unalluded new feature? You may not have immediatly noticed it...and thats its point! The new feature is subtle and there to make tiled backgrounds on zooming docks finally practical. The problem with tiled backgrounds before, was that in most cases you needed really specific icons for them to look proper. Reason being, otherwise if the image was large, all it would do is cover up the background and you wouldn't rea
Lantec: that's the free version's dialog...in the plus its in the same space Available on zooming docks, scroll through...you'll see there is i think 4 tile backgrounds included updated to use the latest skinning features. Give them a try! Bender50: Try CityName, PrivinceAbbreviation. "Toronto, ON" works for me! We plan on continually improving the location-recognation code here on the server-side to m
WebGizmos: You're exactly right We ended up deciding that there were wayyyyy too many ridiculous dramatic improvments across the board for us to just "up it by 0.1". This one deserves to get noticed! Haha oh and hey! Might as well tease... So for those involved in the Betas - while you think you've alre
Just a shoutout - thanks everyone on the ObjectDock messageboards the last couple weeks for trying out the beta!!!! Huge huge huge huge help in keeping ObjectDock a top-quality product Thanks for the help testing everyone
aman2812: I think v1.9 which is coming out very soon will be able to help you. (It is the one that has been beta'd as v1.58/v1.59 on stardock central for the last couple weeks.) I've seen situations like this but very rarly. I've seen it when it comes to messed up security permissions on the settings folder. I've got something for you to try though. Once you get the new version, you'll see on the main screen a new "Troubleshooting Options" button/dialog. Open that up, and you'll see an
cepheid: Vista or XP? x64 or x86? Thanks v1.9 (rebranded from v1.6...there was just wayyyyyyy too many dramatic changes hah) will be available on Stardock Central tomorrow. Hopefully this doesn't exhibit the issue you were seeing / we can find a solution.
'same thing'? some details on what went wrong might help us remedy the problem - anything else you can tell us? thanks!
also: if you have a crash report please forward it over to support, with "v1.6 crash log for developer" or something of the like in the subject! If it didn't offer to save one, there's a good chance that you can find it in your ObjectDock's home folder... it'll look something like "ObjectDock Crash Report (4-21-2007 462d937de).zip" thank you!
rustysam: have your tried any of the new troubleshooting options?
Hey guys, I think that was one that crept in in the most recent beta. Did it happen in any of the previous ones? At any rate, I'm pretty confident that I've taken care of it, assuming it wasn't in v1.6-beta builds that were before a week or so ago.
Gotcha. Alright thanks for the info. I'll see if there's something I can do
Crap. Ok. Some more information if I could. XP or Vista? Classic start menu or using the "start panel"? WindowBlinds? If so which version and what skin? Lotta questions, but all important towards getting an idea! Thanks! -Jeff
OpusCroakus: does this happen only when your recycle bin is very full and you empty it? Or is the wait longer the more-full it is? Thanks!
theblackman: can you please try upgrading to the latest beta, v1.59b and seeing if that helps your problem? To clerify, the problem was...OD would consistently lock up / crash on startup? I'm not sure exactly that I understand the problem you're seeing. Thanks, -Jeff Bargmann ObjectDock Lead Developer
mr.karrde: v1.59b is the "v1.6 beta" Download and enjoy!
FYI: new beta is up on Stardock Central as of an hour or two ago! Fixes include: 1.59b beta ------------ x-Fixed mouse lagginess on startup / when ObjectDock is busy. x-Improved system tray, should now work more reliably than ever! Outlook 2007 and Windows Live Messenger should both now work reliably. x-Fixed issue where autohiding tabbed docks would not autohide anymore after you right clicked anything. x-Fixed up a couple minor res

Good news everyone, I've figured it out Refreshing the build tomorrow evening with the fix. Basically, I thought I had to make a change for Vista in a spot, but I didn't, I just needed to find a better workaround. Turns out the different type of mousehook that I tried to use in place of the old one was sloowwwww.
