Hi all, thanks for these reports. We're looking into a crash issue with 6.44. So far, the issue hasn't shown in the reports, but we've added some additional crash-dump catching. (Fences lives inside of Explorer, so it can be difficult to be able to log all crashed, but the new logic will help.) For those experiencing this issue, we're hoping you could do the following. (1) Enable advanced error logging. You can do this by going to "About" -> "Troubleshoo

? Can you share a link to the original post please. A debug log which contains extensive information about icon spacing can be made by (1) About -> Troubleshooting -> Enable advanced debug log (2) Log off / on, recreate the issue (3) Upload to the team via About -> Troubleshooting -> Create Error Log Package This will allow the team to see more about what is going on. Thank you

Hi, Can you show the spacing of icons outside of groups too, with auto arrange turned on? Likewise, can you try disabling Fences (bottom of the Welcome pane) and logging off / on, turning on auto arrange and showing this as well? it would be helpful if the team could view your debug log. You can access it by going to About → Troubleshooting, enabling “Enable Advanced Logging”, rebooting, then reproducing the problem. You can use “C

Hi, we received your report, but unfortunately a couple things (1) We're not seeing the crash itself be captured (2) Loading your exact settings didn't reproduce the issue (3) Not seeing any pattern in the log to indicate where the crash might be occurring So- we might need to get you a special copy to help track this down, and will have to think about how to go about it. We live within Explorer's process, so, it can sometimes be difficult to be "first in line"

Hi, sorry about this. Could you send us an error report? You can access these from About → Troubleshooting, and there are options to enable advanced logging and for creating error log package. (1) Enable advanced logging (2) Reboot (3) Trigger crash [enable Fences as needed, if it has disabled] (4) Upload error log As well, the latest beta version to test is v6.44. I don't think it will solve your issue, but feel free to give

Hi – please try the current version in beta, 6.44 https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/dmxsmtgn3ynud86ev8pb7/Fences6_6.4.4.1-j117-Setup.exe?rlkey=of06ojwrt15sgtptuowshwie3&dl=1 This issue should be resolved, and we believe stems from a missing value in your registry settings (in HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Stardock\Fences). If this doesn

Hi. Thanks for this report, but this isn't a common thing we're hearing. Can you give more information and potentially screenshots? Thanks for the information. Generally, reverting to the old version is not going to help, and unsure why to revert after having had fixed it, if it needed fixing. Thanks for clarifying.

Hi wolfpurplemoon! Yes it was rarely used and so was removed for simplicity. Many were confused about why you'd want to delete all the icons in a group to begin with. Adding an option to "Select All" might make sense, so that folks can do batch operations on everything in a fence in general, not just delete. Wondering what your usage case was around this? Do you have more than a few icons in a group? How often does this occur and why is this useful to you. Thanks for info

Experimenting here, we're seeing this entry immediately appear upon installing the second pack (as soon as the desktop is clicked/activated next) May need to add some debug code to the app to see what's going on on these specific failures, as right, not able to reproduce. Language added via the usual route in Language & region yes? Note again the change will take effect next time the desktop is clicked/activated, but I'm sure we're well past that.</p

Again — would this be a setting for ALL desktop icons, or only ones within Fence groups, etc? ie should loose desktop icons not moved into a Fences group still be double click. Should this be a global setting in Fences or a group by group setting

Wondering if you might be able to share the value of "HotkeysComboDefaults" from registry, at key: Software\Stardock\Fences\Settings If it is 3, then, would like to do some debugging to fix this up. 3 should be auto-detecting. Also, "HotkeysComboLangSwitcherActive", if present. (Guessing it will not be.) Thank you

Hi, Fences *should* automatically change the default, when it detects this. Exception being if you've upgraded from a much earlier version. Wondering if this was a fresh installation, or upgraded? Likewise, wondering what langs you have setup and how? We'd like to replicate to make sure this doesn't continue to occur.

Hi lenraphael, we're considering adding ability to just start typing while on the desktop and having it jump to the items on the desktop that match, or even, hilighting and/or filtering live. Wondering if you would have self-discovered this or not. One note is that this much more difficult to pull off for folder portals, so that's a component as well. Likewise, accidental triggers, if filtering. People may hit a key, and icons will disappear, and that's not good.

Hi, are you requesting this for Folder Portals, or all desktop icons etc etc. Any specifics? As pointed out, this is already possible, but we are looking at adding it to the program itself

Couple of quick questions: (1) If you separate the two tabs (detach, so there are no tabs, just two groups) does this impact the issue (2) About how many icons are buried away in these two groups? 10-20? 100-200+? I see the slight stutter going on here at the end, that happened on occasion in the video, but we've really not been able to reproduce here even with many many icons, so trying to figure out what's going on there in those few hiccups.

Steam is a worse deal. We can't offer things like upgrade discounts, or subscriptions (which seem evil, but, actually work out to $0.83/mo and keep you up to date forever), and customer support is more difficult. Steam throws up a low of barrier for publishes. Others on the team know more about the licensing specifics than I, but no from what I'm aware it does need to continually check with Steam, b/c that's how Steam activation works. (Not like, constantly, but regular refreshes.) It

Aye! Yes my follow up question was going to be whether or not unplugging and then re-plugging the monitor also helped, similar to booting up with it unplugged. but it sounds like somehow the change has stuck? This is both great news and leaves me wondering what happened, but, if it comes back, please let us know. Clearly seems to be a timing issue of some kind, but it may or may not be related to us. Thanks again and glad it worked out

Follow-ups: Any difference between if you boot up and initially log in with monitor attached, verses unattached at boot and plug in after the fact? When unattached, the laptop is at 125% correct. Both 125% with and without monitor attached? (Same resolution etc?) It sounds like all your icons and groups are on the primary monitor? Is there any switching that during boot up? I&rs
