Editiors in Galactic Civilizations I Stardock Forums

I am unable to view any of the documentation on the editors. The files are listed as .doc so wordpad tries to open them, but it just crashes. What format are they, or do I have corrupt files somehow? On the scenerio editor, whenever I save, the fields on the info tab are deleted, the races tab reverts to standard settings, the universe tab sliders are sent all the way left, and starting funds on the rules tab becomes unchecked and zeroed. What am I doing wrong? :(

Is there a way to change the ammount of cash available, to all races, at the start of a game?
