Big bounce up the forum! I just found this, which kind of helps a problem I raised on "Reinstalled Windows... Problem!" about mp3s, but still doesn't tell me whether this is actually going to be fixed. I have far too many mp3s and want to conserve disk space. The obvious solution has been to put them all onto CDs, and then play them from there (I conveniently happen to have two CD drives, although that's not a problem with GalCiv). Basically, the problem with mp3s is this. My playlists only play the first file in the list. I understand that this is something to do with where the mp3s have been stored? Ergo, is there some means of fixing this so that I can play all the playlist, or do I just wait for Christmas and ask for an mp3-CD player? ;)

Well, panic over. The Expansion Pack seems to have ironed out the issues with memory, so that's not a problem. It just struck me as strange that the reinstall of Windows should coincide with a piece of software going funny (I have also noticed that a lot of my mp3 software is odd, but strangely enough, nothing else). I had to reinstall Windows due to a, er, mistake. Big, bad mistake. It led to my requiring to install Windows (98SE) to a second directory, C:\Windows2, and also all my software (no small task). One piece to go back on was, of course, GalCiv. But now, its former glory is diminished. No longer can I sweep through the intro sequence with style and panache. Thankyou Stardock. I am (essentially) in agreement with Rangerfish. My bad experience was Imperium Galactica. Bought for £30, sold for £10 only a few weeks later. OK, so it's the *end* of April and the promised demo still has not seen the light of day. I don't know how many people take the view that they will not buy a computer game unless they've played a demo, but I religiously stick to this.
