Are farms just used only to increase the population to the max PQ that the planet can support? And so once the population has saturated, I can upgrade the farms to some other building? What other use (not documented) are farms used for in the game? Another question - sometimes I have seen population sizes > PQ #... is that right? Thanks for replying.

But there are trade goods that give bonuses to the military. And if you traded those goods away, can the other race use it against you? For instance that Xintac (spell) armor that gives a bonus to ship armor?

1. Adjust your spending and taxation rates. 2. Get some Trade technology to construct freighters so that you can send them to other race colonies and generate income. 2a. If you can build economic starbases, construct them near planets with alot of trading routes... make sure the starbase sphere of effect covers the planet. 3. Trade technology with the other races (usually the minor races) for cash... but be careful wit

How to best use farms? I mean, at the initial stages of the game, farms might be useful to help boost the population of a planet. But once it saturates do we still need farms? Can we just upgrade the farms to some other use and then restore farms when the need arises?

erm... so to clarify, trade route profit from Economic StarBases work only if the sphere of effect covers the trade-route start/end planet?

On page 43 of the game manual, it says Starbase modules stack with each other and that it is recommended to build multiple starbases in the same area... So say Starbase A = Influence +20% and another Starbase B = influence +10%, and say a competing race's colony was in the middle of both A & B's coverage..... would that mean the total influence would be +30%? And would it be possible to exceed 100%?

Thanks for the reply Jeysie. Yeh I finally managed to get into my own empire. Took a while for that to happen though. Still its pretty fun to see the results on the Empire lists But now I am waiting for my own medals to appear in the forums. Oh well guess its one of those days <img src="http://images.stardock.com/gc2/T_DL/smiles/Smile.gif" border=0 ALI

What about a medal for: Political parties used in game? Collected all Super Projects in one game? 'Project Groupie' medal? Collected all Galactic Achievements in one game? 'Grand architect' medal? Collected all Trade Goods in one game? 'Taipan' medal? and maybe more medals of the above if you win more games with those conditions? eg: Out of 2 games, one game you collected all Super Projects - 'Project Groupie' medal awarded. Out of 7 games, yo

Citizen Nermnim, I use FF 1.5.0.1 with the NoScript & Adblock extensions and I could create my metaverse characters without any problems. It could either be the FF version you are using or an extension or a feature that you might have activated that could be causing the problem.

Have a few questions about the metaverse. 1. For metaverse ranking, is it only for those above Rank 25? 2. When I view my empire statistics, it says: "Empire : Not in an Empire". But I created both an empire and a character, so what should I do to get that character into that empire? I tried inviting my character into the empire, but I saw nothing happen. Does anyone know the above answers? Thanks for taking the time to reply

You use StarDock Central to archive your game. Just launch SDC, go to the GalCiv 2 menu and right click on it. There should be an option to create an archive. After that all you need to do is locate the archive files and burn those to CD or DVD. I did that recently when downloading the pre-load files and everything worked smoothly. Let us know if you need further help.
