Hello all! I have a question about the world tools for fan-based content and/or mods. Will it be possible/practical to re-create some of the classic Star Control races for player-generated campaigns? I understand from previous developer posts that the classic races may not be returning for the core campaign, so I'd like to know if it will be possible to generate them for fan creations. Have fun!<

Star Control (Series), Star Control 2 (Individual Title) Mass Effect (Series), ME2 (Individual Title) Elder Scrolls (Series), Morrowind (Individual Title) Command & Conquer (Series), Tiberium Wars (Individual Title) Wing Commander (Series), Privateer 2: The Darkening (Individual Title)
So long as its nothing like the SC3 League Morality Clause Random Bullshit Generator, the HAL 9000 clone computer that annoyingly butted its way into the game. That stupid thing was irritating. I liked the Mass Effect way of doing things, even though it was simplistic; but the endings were "meh" since prior decisions could be completely invalidated. Personally, I think the ending(s) of Mass Effect 3 were crap-tastic because of the publisher (EA) demanding product ahead of schedule.</p
You're not alone. I filled out the Founders program stuff at the first opportunity, and...nothing. *shrug* No idea. Pretty sure my PC meets min-spec, and I can afford the down-stroke; but no good times for me. 'Bout only one thing we can do: play something else until release date. :-D
Hello All! I know, I know; I'm breaking the first rule of Star Control fandom: you do not acknowledge the existence of SC3. But, and stay with me here, it seems like we're wasting a golden opportunity. If the mod tools are available to us, why not take the decent parts of SC3 (lets be fair, there were some good ideas in there; they just weren't capitalized upon), and give it a shot at redemption? A few of the leftover SC2 & SC3 plot points tha
Nice to see you again Awk! Yeah, I'm looking forward to all of the community-generated content more than anything; so many excellent stories to tell. I know Stardock is officially leaving the Post-SCII lore alone for a time when Fred & Paul are free to carry on...but what about user-generated content? I'd like to see the Project 6014 guys have the opportunity to tell their story using mod tools.
Hello all! I'm extremely interested in the mod tools. What will we have access to? Can we craft full campaigns; including dialogue trees & response triggers? Obviously, I'm going to enjoy the game the way Stardock intended first before I go mucking about with my own stories. I figure I can get away with "Gee Cap'n, the universal translator is on the fritz, so you're going to have to read the subtitles," but beyond that, I'd like to know what kind
'Fraid not SavageMind. My turn to sit outsite, looking in, with the rest of the wait-until-release-date rubes. I can't say I'm surprised, if it weren't for bad luck, I'd have no luck at all. Oh well, I can still dream about generating some sweet content with mod tools. Nobody's ever done a really good Babylon 5 mod...;-)
*Sigh* Still no invite e-mail. Will have to spend my Christmas money elsewhere...
Hello all! Was wondering if anyone else wanted to see more of the ship than the bridge/view screen. I've enjoyed the "roam around the ship/base & meet people" sections of games like Mass Effect, and would like to see something similar in Star Control. In addition to external/functional ship upgrades, perhaps we could also have species-specific internal upgrades? Have the "command staff" of the fleet assignable to different ship's functions. Off the top of my head:

Same here guys. I've been a fan of Star Control for a long time. Took the survey the other night...waiting for an e-mail the way kids wait for owls from Hogwarts.
