I recall Stardock promised this even before the expansion pack, but now its still not here.... Will it ever be? Will it be in GavCiv II? (In that case I will buy it and write the story of Asimovs triology into the game! And I will add some really odd interaction sequences when encountering forreign species...;-)

Hiding some features to be researched. As it is now, all research just increase my points, or let me build things that increase my points (like Defence +5). It would be much more interesting to hide some of the features of the game, to be researched. Lets say you include mines, carriers, true warp, stargates, anti-missile guns, cloaking etc that people have suggested here, well, then instead of making this available directly, let me research them! Then you get rid of this spre

There are many situations in the UI where I have to rely on remembering information, or making notes. Like "hmmm, this system that the ask me to give to them, where is is positioned, how hany planets does it have, how good is it" and "hmm.. this ship here in the list, is that part of that huge fleet that I am sending out to war, or is it somewhere else, etc". Naming tha planets with coordinates etc helps a bit, but I AM using a computer, that knows all this... perhaps always allow an "info click

Yeah, thats whats so cool. You really understand why things are happeing IRL. Naturally I bomb the destabilizers, and naturally I build a 5000 channel entertainment network, because then I can crank of the production a bit more without anyone complaining! These are some of the best things about GalCiv, It seems so realistic in what gives credit in what areas...;-) And its also humoristic in an ironic, it makes me smile to notice these things in the game. Also, the idea of allowing some

This could be a thread to discuss IRL ideology and politics in GalCiv (and other TBS). I found some issues in GalCiv that are really cool. Like including slavery as an option, like some big empire cunquering a small one and setting up a "provisional government" there afterwards.... ;-) This is such a relief after games like Freelancer or C&C Generals, that seems bribed by CIA or someone, to teach everyone the right way of life, and justify current politics. I think games can really affe

Relating to my own suggestion on events: I realise that a full-blown event system like that, with an event "language" etc is a lot of work, but until that happens, it would probably not be a lot of work to make events be able to depend on SOME parameters, like year, an other event + time. That alone would make for some great background stories! What do the rest of you think of how this should be done with minimum effort and maximum effect? (Or perhaps I am alone to thi

I say the same thing I said about Space Empires IV (a super games too, very far from GalCiv, but cool in other ways): Make event that can depent on almost anything, and in any combination, and preferrably change anything in the game too. This way it will be possible to write actual SF stories in GalCiv to participate in!!! 4x games are great for being so open, but it would be really nice to have the option to hardcode a storyline that is going on, forcing you to participate or

Has anyone in Eurpoe ordered GalCiv from the US? Can I order it in Europe directly? I wanted the printed manual, so I chose to order from EBgames at 35 dollars + 30 dollars freight (crazy!!! but I though it was a superfast overnight service and went for it...). That was on the 23 april, and GalCiv was in stock. My order status is still ON HOLD now 5 may... they claim to be checking my creditcard on the order status... That should take no more than 10 seconds, so its bullshit. I have no
