I usually play on whatever is the first difficulty the AI starts getting benifits (The one above intelligent). I typically have speed 7 ships (2 or 3 engines) until I research hyperwarp, then go to 13. I generally do put defense on ships for the simple reason that if you build a massive dreadnaught with 200 attack and fight ships with no defense and 20 HP that means that ~180 of your attack is wasted (This reflects my play style. I don't like to manage large numbers of smaller craft so my battle

Torians first. I always seem to be leading a coalition against them because their influence keeps getting to strong. I did learn never to let them build any of the influence wonders Acreans next - I always seem to start next to them I always seem to war with these two and never really have good relations with them - ever

Stardock develops and pubilshes Galactic Civilizations II. But it does not distribute it to retail in North America. That's done by Take 2. The article is in error for the same reason a lot of places get it in error - many people don't realize that Take 2 is actually one of the larger distributors in the world ala In

As someone who does PC repair work for Circuit City I will tell you that some laptops are easy to upgrade, about as hard as changing your laptop ram (assuming the ram is not located under the keyboard and a piece of metal thats soddered to the motherboard) but others will have the graphics card soddered and basically cannot be upgraded without risking damage to the mobo. There really isn't anyother way to find out but to remove the keyboard and/or case

I have only seen this in my most recent game, but one of the minor races (Jessuvians (sp)) built two influence starbases. One was right next to their home plant, the other was close to mine. It just seems like a waste to do so since they don't produce any kind of Influence that I am aware of. Has anyone else seen this? Is there a benifot for them doing this?

and the ships wheeled about in a chaotic manner, as if they *had* to keep moving instead of standing still to fire if that was an optimal firing option. I get that too. It seems like all the races' helmsmen (helmsthings) are a bit on the drunk side

yeah, some people might say that you already released two patches and weren't prepared but since its in response to problems reported after game release, I just think it shows that you guys are trying to be on top of things and responsive to the gaming community's needs. (and I certainly don't expect you guys to test every possible system configuration and come up with every possible way concievable to try to exploit the game) Keep up the good work!

Ha! Just like the Borg (which in a game is a good thing. I like having to redesign my fleet of ships that have been terrorizing the galaxy for years because the Torians are now using armor plating) Its not too powerful if the AIs are already using armor

I've noticed that before I go in for a round of ship upgrades I will talk to all the other civs to see if I can get anything else to add to my ships. But it just kinda seems wierd to be able to trade for Laser V and then build/upgrade a fleet of ships with it immediatly even though I've never researched any laser or beam techs before.
