out-of-game ship builder. Considering how much of a success Ship Design in GalCiv 2 was and is, this seems like an excellent idea for Stardock to me. It seems only logical to me to bring it to the next level. Some people might want do design a ship from time to time with all parts enabled. <img src="http://images.stardock.com/gc2/T_DL/smiles/Smile.gif

Hmm... Normal was made a bit easier in 1.3 because we added some new difficulty levels at the top end. (this thread) Normal will be tougher than it was because there's a new easier difficulty level (take
damn all this digital stuff, what happened to times when you used dollars and you weren't at risk of getting your identity stolen. Most harm is still done with cash, I think.
I'm really looking forward to the enhanced AI options and the user-designed opponents. I'm not sure what to make out of the "special environments" and "asteroids" stuff: Sounds a bit like cluttered maps and starbase look-alikes to me...
i agree and wonders are great maybe you just dont know how to use them A few of them really make very little sense, like the Galactic Guide Book.
Most of the embedded spyware, hard drive formatting, and other malicious code that all our software includes has been reduced by over 14%. I always knew it! Could you elaborate a bit on the difficulty levels, please? As I understand it, there's now a ne
Interesting read, keep it coming!
I fully agree on the "let the AI cancel alliances" issue, it would be a fair thing and keep the player somewhat on his toes. And I'd support any intelligent limit on ship speed (other than "x is enough"): Like restricting the number of engines you can put on a given hull size in a given galaxy size. I like fast ships myself and play on the big map sizes mostly, but being allowed to put almost nothing than engines on a ship design is unrealistic in my opinion (and we all know the
Looks great! Congratulations and thank you very much!
Works for me with the unrounded ^0.4, except that now I have to round the final result naturally instead of down (1 point of difference).
More AI tweaks and the CPU option - I like what I read here.
e-stab, the formula posted here Link by Starweb gives your overall metaverse score when considering that the aging penalty is based on a calculation date set the 7/4/06 (time of the recalc) Yes, thanks for the reminder. I replied in his thread, but seeing Brad's posting made me wonder w
For some reason it is the 5th game that triggers the division by 2. The program must be set to adjust the total score on the game following the game that the square root of the divisor reaches a whole number. So it stands to reason that the hits will take place on the 5th, 10th, 17th, 26th, 37th, 50th, 65th, Etc. No, here's someone with 5 games and n
estab, they probably round the root down. So if he plays another, he should take a decent hit. No, another player ( Link ) has 4 games already and it's the same for him: No division, just the sum. So there has to be something involved that's not on the table yet.
Thanks Brad, I'm glad it was done in the end. As for the total MV score, it doesn't seem to work the way you said: Example . The score of this guy is the sum of his three games, there's no division by the square root of 3.
Contrary to what Cari posted, the formula over here works fine for my MV score: Link .
The formula seems to be right, it works for my 16 games at least. Can anyone else confirm or disprove it? (Don't forget to round down at every step, by the way.)
The general forumula is SumOfDepreciatedScores / NumberOfGames^4 This formula can't be right, the denominator will become too big too fast.
I fully agree with Star Dagger. I cared less and less about Metaverse scoring because the older scores never got fully recalculated. Look for the "Vigilante" character currently ranked at #2 to see an example: Link . Additionally some MV total scores seem weird when looking at the individual games. I'd like to know which formula they're supposed to obey.
Red Alert! Raise shields! The Drengins seem to have used their new Carriage Return Annihilator on us! Trade for the tech at all costs! Redesign and upgrade our ships! Hurry! - oops, sorry, seems like I got carried away...
I won't pre-order. I already did!
Well if we do it it will be in an expansion. Not in an update. Just tell me where to sign then.
If you mean the "bug" that causes you to lose production when you load a saved game, that is a feature of gameplay, not a bug. As far as I know it has never been called a bug or a feature by Stardock. Until then, it is a bug for me.
Imagine an "advanced" button next to each player that let the player pick: * Resource Bonus (-50% to 200%) * Aggression Level (1 through 10) * Strategy Type (A, B, C, D) * Intelligence (1 through 10 which the higher the #, the more CPU it would use). That would be gamers' heaven! <img src="http://images.stardock.com/gc2/T_DL
If you don't like them, make them rare. And how?
