Carielf is trying, she knows how important it is , she'll get it right. She's not primarily responsible for the Metaverse as far as I know. We're not beating on the Metaverse or the devs here, by the way, we only made some well-founded criticism as far as I can tell. <img src="http://images.stardock.com/gc2/T_DL/smiles/Wink.gif" border=0 A

Darth Griffin is right: You have to be aware that you take a risk when playing a beta version, including posting a score to the Metaverse. I ran into the same problem, but now I accepted it and will probably never post a beta score again. But I also agree with Thebestaintyou that the Metaverse could really need some more attention. It has been a disappointing experience lately. Cari, are you really sure that anomalous scores don't count at all? I don't think so: My score went dow

Thanks for opening a thread about the AI, Ivan, it's in the focus of my interest too. Now I'm not sure if you played with 1.2-Beta already, but in my experience with it most of your points under 1. (planetary management) are no longer an issue: The AI builds a lot of factories, uses special tiles better and has stopped building a gazillion influence buildings, farms or morale boosters. It's not

I am aching to announce what is in the expansion pack because I think people are going to be pretty happy about what we're doing. Most of the features are not going to be the kinds of things people would think of at first. Stop teasing us and hand out the real thing! We're at your mercy already. <img src="http://images.stardock.com/gc2/T_DL/smiles/La

Looks great! Kudos to the team! I hope there's still a chance that some parts of the AI (as much as possible ) will be made available for modding. Most Paradox games had a significant part of the AI in text files with values for lots of parameters, it allowed for great modding, improvements and adaptio

Welcome to the club, Star Dagger! There's nothing special needed for joining us, feel free to post at the Core, but it's not a must. The forum software over there deserves its title more than this one here though.

I agree that a diplomatic option "Tell them to get lost!" would be a useful addition. Perhaps in an expansion? Wars have been started in my games only because I wanted to get rid of starbases, this shouldn't be necessary. (I think the AI occasionally builds economic starbases to extent its range, by the way.)

I get the impression that Spore will end up as either the most hyped or the best game of the year. It sure looks nice, but I'm not convinced that all these different parts will fit together.

Just one more thing about diplomacy. Some times i see things that don't make much sense to me. Like A is at war with B, B at war with C, C at war with A, like a triangle war, or also a square war if you include D. I think when a war involves more than two civs, they should form two sides. Three or more sides all fighting against each other doens't make sense to me. <b

Magnumaniac (and others interested, of course), I gave some feedback about the AI ( Link ) - feel free to join the fun! The thread is about the 1.2-Beta AI, but all points except planetary building (which is way better now) are still valid from 1.11 or even 1.1.

I noticed that sometimes the AI even builds too many factories now: I worried a bit about their research and PQ 5 planets with 3 factories and a shipyard are arguable. I usually put a bunch of stock markets and/or research facilities on the very small planets, replacing the factories when all other buildings are done and upgraded. Many factories are much better than the infamous gazillion embassies or farms though. <img src="http://images.stardock.com/gc2/T_DL/smiles/Smile.gif" border=0 ALIGN="a
