Maybe lost games simply shouldn't count at all. You could submit them, but they're not factored in the total score.
e-stab
perhaps if the average score portion was dropped as has been suggested in the past more folks would submit losing games. Well, right now there are only two factors: The number of games you played and the average score you achieved. The way it is now you cannot decrease the influence of the average score since it is the base for the calculation.
But if someone actually did play it out to the end, would it count against his/her score? In a way, yes: Your total score is defined by the average score you received and the number of games you played (that's not exactly how it is calculated, but it's equivalent). Thus, when you significantly lower your average score by submitting a lost game with l
I'm not sure, otherwise I'd have said something. Truth is that your military score increases even when there is no war at all and you're not even building ships. My guess is that the military rating ( = the standing army/navy) is the most important thing.
most of the military score is based on victories, defeats, Actually not.
Well, for what prize would you trade a resource base away? I wouldn't do so for almost any prize to anyone.
Well, the time for games longer than a dozen years definitely is over with 1.1, and that's a good thing. How to get high scores? High difficulty level, high population population count (a.k.a. large number of habitable planets), military victory and don't take too much time, then you'll be fine.
I think what he meant was that, as tech takes longer to discover, bonus to research translate in a larger absolute number of turns where you can benefit from these tech Yes, but research times would have to be insanely high to really make a difference. There are a lot of other factors like tech trading which have larger influence. <TABLE c
Are you all that are in favor of slowing the tech speed, trading techs? Sometimes yes, sometimes no. Tech advance is fast both ways.
As slower the tech rate is as more imported the bonus +x% research will be. No, that's not true. A bonus of x% stays the same regardless of the tech costs as it is applied on the research output, not the tech costs. Your remark regarding espionage is more important, but I don't find tech theft to be that easy and frequent that it will be a
Thirded. And I'd like to suggest to add an extremely slow tech speed (just like Civ 4 did) which should take at least the double of time needed for "very slow".
Well, I clicked default, I hope it works. Seems so, yes.
The thread is a bit old, but I guess it'll be able to help you: Link
Hmm, I think you're talking about the medals that show up under other peoples posts? You have to set one of your metaverse characters to "default" (it's a very faint button in the metaverse character management), then they will show up.
I am changing the code so that, in metaverse games, you cannot start with relations higher than friendly. Hmm, I'd suggest to disable the setting of relations for Metaverse games completely, even starting at friendly relations is quite an advantage. I don't think this should be possible to do - else everybody might start doing it.
I agree that the AI seems to undervalue factories, e.g. I've never seen a planet with very high manufacturing output like the player would do it: A couple of factories, using special tiles if possible, the manufacturing capital and maximized economic starbases for production bonuses. Such a planet can build almost any ship in one turn, the AI doesn't seem to take advantage of that.
No, 9 Majors plus the Minors is the maximum.
While I share your feelings about the lack of AI aggressiveness/decidedness regarding the human player to some extent, Stardock tells the AI to treat the human player just like everyone else, and for good reasons. I don't think this should be touched (they wouldn't want to anyway), but the AI should focus more on winning the game, yes. My biggest gripes/suggestions about the AI as of 1.1 are: - way too easy to buy techs for money from everyone, regardless of relations - way
diplomatsGlacticCore .com says I shoud E-mail darkGriffen but not where? What is his e-mail??? You should be able to send him a private message on the Galactic Core, that's what I did.
Can you make it so when I offer a bundle of tech, and then I call up his cash bar to ask money for it, that the screen come up automatically set to how much he is willing to offer for the bundle. Yes, I second the idea of a "cash me out" button. It is done anyway when trading, so why not make it more comfortable?
Feet first only! No, I think you can leave it on the empire page in the Metaverse, can't you?
My one wish for 1.2: Chosen and random alignments for the major races.
I've discovered this whole new tab in the ship design interface called "Defenses" Wait a minute - "Def-what?".
+ AI (some of them) less reactionary to influence concerns (i.e. won't likely build as many embassies) Sounds good, just like the other changes. By the way, are you sure that the planetary culture improvements work as they should? I found the increa
I'm not sure whether it would actually be a fix or a new feature, but a single button (whichever it is) to close all windows would be very welcome.
