Cattleprod? I thought you used a patented Zorcher? Standards are falling.... Yes, sign up for this empire - so you can be tired, poor, AND gross.... ....but you could also consider the sunny Antipodes, with the laid back crew of the ANZAC Empire. You only need to have been photographed in any location vaguely suggesting the Southern Hemisphere, or say you have, or have a friend who has, or know someone who knows someone....

Re #38 and #40 Now the obvious link here is Hugo Weaving - Elrond of Rivendell and Agent Smith. How can we bring together technoMatrix and LOTR? "Welcome to Rivendell...MISTER Anderson." (I can't take credit - saw it elsewhere on the Net) :CONGRAT:

Hey - DONT KNOCK OUR KYLIE! Or the Wiggles! Or any other national treasures either! If this continues, I'll have to recruit one of our Test cricketers - then you'll see some world championship sledging on these boards. You will crumble when faced with Glenn McGrath! :sniff!: Serious footnote: I'd support calls for revising the scoring based on my (admittedly limited) experience. I can't get my head around how long it would take to complete a gigantic game; and with gaming time limited

Re #93 Pontius - you spend so much time here on the ANZAC thread with us...you seem like a decent type....ever thought of a happier (great southern) existence down here with us? You're just a simple couple of clicks away (cue hypnotic background music)...... And where can I get one of those Gross Death Ray Zorchers, anyway?

Does anyone have a sense of what type of victory is easier? Do most of you start a game with the express intention of a military victory and go down those research channels, or start a game and see how it plays out and adjust accordingly? I thought I would try and work my way through different victory types in order to learn the game mechanics - GalCiv never struck me as a "one sure path to victory" type of game. I'd be interested in your thoughts...oh, and if anyone tries singing Khum

Just scraped onto the scoreboard by finishing my first game (a massive 73 points) - how on earth (or anywhere else for that matter) does Cataleptic do it? Time to drink beer - at least the words European, GROSS and poodles that are circulating in my brain may make more sense after that. :CONGRAT:

More re the motto: The 12th ANZAC Battalion has the motto: "What we have, we hold." (Kinda like that!). The ANZAC (medical) Research Institute: "Preventing the preventable, delaying the inevitable." (Might describe my gaming style, but not exactly inspiring ). Or perhaps just the RAAF motto: "Per Ardua ad Astra" (I think the translation is 'through difficulties, to the stars').

Hi there! I'm brand new - just signed up and installed GalCiv today - and would love to join the ANZAC Empire. I'm in Melbourne (great weather, lousy football teams) - can I join? How do I join? Bearing in mind Christopher's comments above I would like to maintain decent relationships with my wife and children ;p and would be offering my newbie talents for fun and not for profit! BTW, the motto of the HMS ANZAC is "United We Stand". Pretty good, huh? Cheers,
