David ben Gurion declared himself the "father of terrorism". He was a founder of the 1948 Israeli state, which he helped achieve by terrorizing the natives into fleeing the area--a fact which he was actually proud of. We get the word "terrorist" from an Israeli, by his own admission. The term "terrorism", at its roots, actually goes back to 1920's hooliganism perpetrated by Zionists in Palestine, used to run natives out of the area for the purpose of achieving a "Jewish" state in Palestine

Yeah, but that doesn't really apply on Fast Tech settings, so Good does have a bit of a niche there. Still though, shoot--on Battle of the gods, I would totally mitrosoft the Mind Control Center on Evil as early as I could, and that outweighs Good's empathic center.
You just got a whopping 4 billion troops out of Information Warfare, and that is out of the ordinary, even for a 12B population planet at 40% morale. I don't know that I would call it a bug, but it's certainly out of the ordinary. However, if you were down to 3500 troops after all that and yet had 8.5 billion pop, that's a bug all the way. What were the odds you got on that particular invasion? Around 2-to-1?
I tend to play Evil 70% of the time, Neutral 20%, Good 5%. Neutral definitely has its place on smaller maps. Good was starting to hold its own when DA had the defense bug (some experiments suggest DA still has it). Actually, in a lot of my DA games, over half my game I'm not any alignment at all. I tend to postpone researching Xeno Ethics a lot, because once you research it you don't get the ethical events when colonizing new planets. That means you miss out on a lot of Evil bon
I found that if my military is far stronger than my enemy's, I get much better peace treaties. Easiest way is just to go around and knock off all his orbiters.
By the way. Jews in America are called Jews. Only if they live in Israel are they called Israelies. Actually, it's the other way around. Every Jew in America is automatically considered to have Israeli dual-citizenship. Many of whom could really care less.
And a topic like the Jewish lobby I'm concerned about calling it the "Jewish lobby". This is politics. Words matter. This is the Israeli lobby. The lead agency is AIPAC (American-Israeli political action committee). It's foreign espionage on the U.S., plain and simple. The "Jewish" tag turns it into a racially taboo topic. If Iran were spying on us, we wouldn't call it the "Muslim lobby", why should Israel be cut a special break.
raq is not the product of either the Democrats or the Republicans. It is the product of the Israeli lobby, who is pulling the strings on both parties and all the presidential candidates. Now you're talking my language! Bravo to you for being a voice of reason... but now you might be able to be considered a conspiracy nut yourself for voicing that one! Nah, usually I get called anti-semitic, Nazi, racist, bigot,
Iraq is not the product of either the Democrats or the Republicans. It is the product of the Israeli lobby, who is pulling the strings on both parties and all the presidential candidates. Israel considered Iraq a threat to them, but they didn't have the wherewithal to take Iraq out themselves. So instead, they manipulate the U.S. into doing it for them. That's where this whole "WMD" and "Iraq is harboring Al Qaeda" baloney came from.
4) Will only slightly impact your relations with others (you will get tagged with 'tendencey to conquer others') This impact is not slight at all. My last game I got hit with the "secret meeting" event because of this. Every major race left in the galaxy declared war on me. The game before that the Torians declared war on me the very turn I was about to win an influence victory, because I had conquered 2 minors much earlier.
If the MCC gave you 100% economy bonus *AND* planets could flip, MCC would be overpowered. Some people think it's already overpowered as it is.
I will echo the "Neutral for rush, Evil otherwise" sentiment. You know, the way I think it ought to be is, Evil should be the rush alignment, and Good the "in it for the long haul alignment". And neutral is somewhere in the middle but gets along diplomatically with everybody. That's the way it SHOULD be. I think this should reflect in the ethical choices, too: Evil gets some immediate benefit i.e. cash, free tech, free ship, etc.. Good ge
hehehe silly, thats like saying why bother bombing Nazi germany when were just going to invade and have to rebuild it! Actually, bombing Nazi Germany was arguably silly, too. The Allies never really disabled Germany's production capacity. What really stopped Germany was that all their pilots died trying to defend from the bombing raids. They didn't even run out of planes, really--they ran out of pilots.
I like Neutral as a nice rush alignment. If I'm playing a small map or just want a strong rush, I'll choose Neutral. The benefits are immediate, such as the morale bonus--which occurs right when you need it the most--cheap ship upgrades, and you can colony rush the class-1's and 2's. If I think I can win the game for all practical purposes on that, I'll pick Neutral. If I'm going for a long haul (such as on a large map where you don't have any choice), I'll choose Evil. Neutral pet
Peace treaties. All the time you'll be slaughtering an AI player and the AI on the trade screen will be begging for peace; but when you offer Peace Treaty for Peace Treaty, he won't take it. At least, not until you throw in half your Trade Goods--and that's when you're WINNING THE WAR.
Generally speaking, I never put down a power plant until I have researched at least Anti-Matter power plants. Fusion just isn't worth it. And even then, I put a higher priority on researching Industrial Sector, for the starbase upgrades. I usually research neither Fusion nor Anti-Matter until Industrial Sector is done, and I won't research Fusion until I am prepared to research Anti-Matter next.
One way to buy some time is to finish researching Xeno Ethics right as your treasury drops well below -500bc. Your treasury will reset to 0, regardless of which alignment you choose. Of course, if you choose Neutral, you will get even more immediate benefit in your morale.
Is this true for DA? I've played DL and when i take an enemy's capital, they just move the capital, no automatic surrender. Automatic surrender when you take their capital does not happen in DA. However, when you take out their capital, you are cutting off their head and more-or-less rendering them irrelevant. Which is actually better: when you completely take out a race, whether a major or a minor, you take a diplomatic hit. You don't see it the
I agree. You may want to check your debug.err and see if the AI's are trading colonization techs with each other but not with you. That's supposed to be not fair. The workaround I do is not to bother with colonization techs. Invade instead. You don't need colonization techs to invade; in fact, you can steal the techs that way.
If you've got the population to burn, I've found that colonizing a class-3 and then plopping a couple Xeno labs on it can get you a little free research. And then you can use an extra colony ship lying around to ferry population over to get it up to 6B. It isn't such an albatross around your neck that way. In terms of terraforming very-low-PQ planets, that's very nice when you're Neutral, but if you're Good or Evil you can count on those low-PQ planets staying that way for a long ti
Sounds like the defense bug. Intentionally build ships with the WRONG type of defense and see what happens. You should be able to stand toe-to-toe with them then.
The Galactic Guide Book wouldn't be that useful even if anomalies regenerated. I've built it before (why not), and while it does make the survey modules free, they still take up space. About the same space as 2 sensors. Galactic GB needs to be much cheaper and buildable earlier in the game; that's all there is to it. That said: someone might find it of SOME use. If you don't have the Eyes, you can load up small hulls with free survey modules and make cheap 40bc sensor ships.
I like to think positive. It's a different game every time they make a new release. Some things good, some things bad, but always different. Very replayable just because of that
How does population growth occur? Well, you see, when a man and a woman are attracted to each other....
True. Kinda like when we buy something for "4 bucks", that came from 4 deer skins. Except aliens trade in humans as currency. Hurry now! Alien pizzas on sale, 4 homos apiece!
