how about a specific military strategy (feined retreat, blitzkreig, maginot line, cavalry (mobile), infantry (shield wall), artillary (long range), that could be selected and researched which defines the tactical advantages of the players ships. this would see the ships upgraded over time (new icons!), with the ship specific tech from the tech tree enhancing the strategy in an individual way. hang on am i in the right thread? :)

actually i just remembered that the main reason i joined the meta was cos i really liked the idea of the ai being improved by the submission of player scores. the rest is just extra. BTW, don't suffer from the "we'll never reach the top" syndrome.....
oops took the POSSe to tell the ANZACS that it's LONG TAN DAY start sprinting ANZACs :)

ok how about this - the eternal compromise - we have a fixed number of super-empires in the premiere league(this could be created, or, in deference to the history of the META, the current top whatever - we could have a competition to see who gets to be in the premiere!) and then in the normal division a collection of smaller empires that can affiliate to the super empires. for example the POSSe could be its own empire in the normal division (competing with other empires) but is affiliated to GRO

of course, new people are always welcome, it's just that someone said on the other thread that the nebulous META scoring is based oin number of players (?) so i assume if you've got a million non-active players on 50pts you're shagged by the scoring system? mmm, cadeau is french for gift it is not? :)
