Of course not, I've never been there before, but now I did. OK, gonna try the bootskin again and reboot.

I uncheked resident, but found no 'tea time'.... am I in the right place?
OK- Yrag, what in the world is a "Tea Time" ..... other than a pleasant afternoon break in the UK??? AND where would I find it..... you know me, I don't go poking around with 'advanced' settings (I have spybot free version).
I'll try disableing them and see what happens.
Are you telling me that the anti/spyware programs may be causing this?
No, don't think so I've been using SpywareBlaster, SpywareGuard, Ad-Aware, and Spybot-search & destroy for quite a while.... but I ran a scan now and just found a couple of items.... I tried bootskin again and it still reverts to the default as soon as I close it.
Well, as soon as I close it and reopen it from the Start menu it reverts to the default screen.... and Yes, I have rebooted several times and it keeps using the default boot screen. It just goes through the motions (when applying) and as soon as I close it it returns to default....... don't know if this is germane but the logon works fine...
My BootSkin is just humoring me and doing what it wants.... I select the bootskin I want and apply. Then I get: "Bootskin applied successfully. This skin will be used next time this machine is rebooted". I close bootskin reopen it and it has reset to..... Currently using: Default System Boot Screen <img src="http://images.stardock.com/wc/smiles/Mad.gif" border=0
A colleague of mine came over and was thrilled with my desktop..... at the time I was using the "Oxidized" suite..... I went to WC and showed him the suites, but I'm not sure how to answer his questions, so please help me out. 1. He would not be interested in playing with his desktop as I am and asked me it he could purchase a couple of the suites and and just apply them through "display properties" and be done or if he would have to purchase
P.S. Forgot to add that although I was surprised I thought the 'shield' was a nice little acknowledgement!
Not long ago I realized I had this 'coveted' little shield...... the amusing part is that I thought it was a glitch from the new site, but, a couple of days later when reading one of the comments on a screenshot I realized it was there for a reason. At any rate, I am not a skinner nor do I think I will ever be one. Having said that here are my two cents...... I've been a member of WinCustomize for over a year and a half. I happened on this s
Thanks, Essencay!!!! Lots of smileys there!!
cozone- great link!
You can see and change your email by: My account > personal info > options tab above your name.... hope that helps. Have no clue about #1.
Don't know if this also happens to others but if you post on a multi-page thread it will catapult you to the first page after you post. .....
kweishan9- Thank you, for your information, I did backup my system and have come to be a firm believer of creating my own restore points...... amazingly enough one of my most annoying problems came from a microsoft windows update, so I create my own restore points frequently. Desperation prompted me to use these registry cleaners and thankfully there's no unpleasant aftermath to deal with although I was prepared for it. The wisdom of
Thank you, Ande.... I'll go check it out.
That's one of my favorites, werewolf! Glad you posted it, and thank you.
The saga of IncrediMail.... Part II Jafo, what I needed today was the panacea of the nineties.......... a bottle of 'Prozac'!!! Well fellows, first of all I would like to preface this by thanking all of you for your input and advice..... all of it helped. In an effort to remove the tracks, and registry thingies (as you can see I'm not very familiar wit
Thank you, Sleeping Dragon, but I'm hoping that will be my last course of action..... I did it once a long time ago. Hopefully, I'll be able to aviod it.
I'm off to clean my PC will keep you fellows posted. Thank you so much for the replies.... I'll be back.
Oh M'Lord, thank you for the links!! Werewolf, Thunderbird looks interesting and am seriously contemplating never using Incredimail again if I can find something that functions similarly.
butch123- I don't have either of those programs so, I'm going to try the "Registry Mechanic" and products you and others have suggested because I would rather not tangle with things I know nothing about...... if that fails then..... I may just blow up the PC!
Yrag, hi sweetie, thanks for the link. To tell you the truth the only reason I use Incredimail is because it imports all my email from different addresses. I tried Outlook Express a couple of times and it kept failing to retrieve mail from one account or the other and became a royal pain in the place you don't want a pain! If you can suggest a better mail handler..... I'm all ears, cause I've just about had it with Incredimail. <img src="http
