Hi guys! Its been a while since i gave any feedback on ashes. Having tested the new 2.5 patch i have come up with a few suggestions and feedback: 1. I really liked the remake of the vision (radar) system. But some units and army AI still behaves like in old system. The main issue i have is artillery units (artemis, destroyers) stay behind army and contribute very little in sieging up enemy defence lines. On the other hand middle and close range units get destroyed by the defen

I just like to thank all of you, who participated in event and a special thanks to SchismNavigator for organising it. It was quite fun and i actually look forward some more events. [e digicons][/e]

I would like to see "army" metaunit rework/fix. Now there is a limit on how many units can be formed in a single army. And if you assing 2 or more armies to a single command group, you cant actually manage those armies effectively. I would suggest to expand UI with army management (within command groups) to let us quickly gain access to every single army inside a command group. That would let us maintain more balanced armies, manage reinforcements, give more tactical commands to every army.</

These changes looks quite good and long needed. I would just like to thank you for adressing two of the major balance problems: early air rush and double capping (although i got used to it, it still made new players loose a lot of games). And i also am glad to see a dedicated balance specialist, because escalation really needed one. Stardocks keep up the good work and thank you. [e digicons]|-)[/e]
and i think we still have a rift between players that can air rush an enemy for a quick victory (believing it is the only logical path to victory) and those players that want to survive for atleast 5 min before they are dead
Fully agree. I dont actually think that air rush is an instant win, but it does gives you a great advantage over the enemy. To semi counter that tactic you actually must invest far more resources th

Hi! Is there plans on making somekind of war mode like for example "war of the ring" mode in The battle for middle earth 1/2? I just had an idea, it would be nice if we had some sort of single player mode, where there would be a giant star map (20-100 regions/planets) with different factions, where all of them battle for supremacy over the galaxy. Like when you or your enemy decide to attack a region, then a standart battle occurs (like we have now). The winner of the ba

Hi guys! Was testing the new observer mode by watching 2 challenging AI play, and i saw a few issues i would like to clear up. 1. How on earth AI can make an army of t1 units AND request reinforcements for that army without t2 in it? 2. AI somehow managed to build multiple harvesters from assembly instead of nexus. For the nr.1 i would actually like that to be added to the game. Requesting reinforcements for t1 unit armies would make early

So let me get this straight, you are complaining that an anti building (only) artillery unit is actually doing its job and destroys buildings while not being hit (while being supported by radar/scout units)? You are complaining about this while playing PHC which has the most powerfull artillery in game atm? Okaaay.... Stationary defences are not suppose to be an answer to every act of agression from enemy. You actually got countered. You turtled, you got punished. PHC artillery can do
This will never happen. Starcraft 2 Lotv (3rd expansion of SC II) is a complex game. There are tons of Units in the campaign and upgrades. It sold over a million copies on day one.
I wouldnt call sc2 a complex game. Its a simple game with a lot less upgrades, units, builds than your average RTS. BUT sc2 is a lot micro dependant. If you cant micro well enough, you will fail at sc2. Ashes for example are not that mi

Greetings! I dont actually think that making escalation a standalone game or a separate game was a good idea originaly. Dont get me wrong, escalation is a good game. From what i understand Stardock wanted to not only create a game for the most hardcore RTS players out there (but yeah, who else plays RTS nowadays xD), but also attract some new players and help them adapt to "the wonderfull world of RTS". And i see some major problems in this scenario: - Escalation is not that c

This is my appreciation thread. Well, what can i say about escalation? Great job guys, ashes are now what ashes were supposed to be. More depth, diversity, tactical/strategical decisions and a lot more. Now i can recommend this game to every RTS gamer there is. I do hope you will continue to support it and enchance it with even more depth, units, maps, game modes etc. Why have i created this thread? I have been criticising ash
this is already in there if you select a meta group it has a build menu come up, any units you build from that menu will use a currently idle factory to build a unit and send it straight to your meta group. I personally don't use it though because you can not see very easily what's in the que and no one likes queuing 50 units to build. thats why someone invented repeat build ques. It's much more predictAble

Is it possible so add a posibility to attach factories to an army, so that those factories would reinforce that army (meta unit) directly? Cause atm, there is a problem that if you request a reinforcements, there is no possible way to assign closest factories to production. And as far i see, requested units can be produced on the most distant factory, instead of using closest one. Ofc you could do it manually, but i would apreciate if we could actually assign factories to an army.&nbs

Great idea to be honest. As far as i can see, you want ashes to be like "simplified" versions of escalation. Thats perfectly fine with me. That table is kinda in need of formating, cant see the 3 column (next one after the escalation column). So if I bought a game prior (half year before) to its release am i considered a early adopter?
Escalation, by contrast, will evolve to become substantially more sophisticated. We are looking
Related question: My only interest is in single-player. Only the Gauntlet and Overlord DLC even mention SP. Do the others (Epic, Oblivion, Turtle Wars) have any SP content? Can the multiplayer maps be played as SP against the computer?
As have been stated above, every dlc is aimed at SP and more or less for MP. For MP you get maps, for SP you still get the same maps plus some additional scenario maps (like campaign missions, but small
- Oh wait you said refinery. I took it as amplifier. Refineries are 20% bonus to everything from that node. So add an amplifier then start stacking refineries. Only do it on your largest number of mineral patches. (ie if you have a 4 patch, then only refineries to that).
Dont tell me that refineries stack, like 5 of them give 100% bonus?
Steam and GOG would have to come to an agreement as it is done on their servers. It has happened with some games across the networks though so perhaps it will happen one day.
Ah, my bad, i though that we actually play on stardocks servers. But if it is steam, then i dont think it will happen any time soon.

Here is a suggestion that i think may help. Devs can actually make a separate queue (or a game mode) for lets say 2 v 2 or 2 v 1 (players vs AI). That way more experienced players could help less experienced to learn to play the game. Custom games are ok, but a lot of players are not socialised enough to go for lobby or/and are afraid to ruin peoples games cause they lack experience.
That just seems like a whole lot of negativity. Criticism/counter-point is certainly fair but it just seems you're just complaining about literally everything. I mean you little say "social media... ugh more idiots".
