yeah, but how much effort was spent coding the AI for that one?
I would say, at least fifteen years, but not all of it was for playing GalCiv and not all of it was effective programming. Still the best, though. Go figure.

Yep, just post it here. Conforming to the WotW story, it should be fantasy based, but inspire a crew of elves and humans in space-faring warship. :D Don't worry about not writing anything tonight. It would be a stretch for me to finish the part requiring a battle song by tomorrow. I think I'll break off the story a bit before in this next installment. There are quite a few concurrent events, so it is possible that I won't need it until a week from now.
On tiny, small, and normal, production enhancers everywhere is fine. Every little bit makes a large difference. You end up needing the rapid construction for constructors, etc. On large, I recommend staying away from the fusion power plant for your lower PQ planets. The 3 maintenance cost is high for the benefits, and you don't really need that additional produciton capacity since you should have many planets. Also the 20% increase is a smaller increase on your total production capacity
Calling Miles Naismith. Care to sing a battle song to go in the WotW? If you get it in by tonight, I'll place it in the current installment. If not, it will go in a later one. If you don't want to sing one, there will be nobody to rally the Fellowship. :( I'm strapping for content to catch up with Grekkan's chapters. Any body willing to post a ballad or something please be my guest. LOTR had many songs and many more were cut to make the trilogy short enough. A long so
See with trolls, you have that bit about being afraid of sunlight and that doesn't work too well. With orcs, you have that whole hate the elves and humans thing. Especially the elves. Goblins have no problems I know of, but they are usually chaotic in nature and can't be tamed. Eagles and dragons are an idea, and I can make up a way for them to fly in space.
J4: It's quite impressive. The Fellowship is also much larger. I believe you were here long before my time. How are you doing. Also I need some feedback. Anyone want to make an appearance in the WotW. I also need to get more Middle Earth races into the story or invent a couple new ships - special ones powered by dragons or something. We could have the trolls do something. Maybe even the orcs. The eagles were definitely part of the LOTR, and what about goblins. Anyone know if th
Commentary on mods, yes that would be nice we could rate them. Probably on a five star level. 5 stars - adds significantly to game play (well balanced) 4 stars - enjoyable mod to have (balanced) 3 stars - good mod 2 stars - some merits, unbalanced, tedious 1 stars - not enjoyable to play with, really unbalanced 0 stars - destroys game play - does not work would be nice feedback to the maker in case they want to modify their mods [Message Edited
Actually the race is over! Congrats! Arg, Staffa blew the surprise. [Message Edited]
Check the score board people. The race is on!
I think I'll just play another game. Looks like Staffa isn't interested to race to 100k.
Spoke too soon, Ray - you better hurry, else Staffa will just steal it out under your nose. You'll need 8k if you play tomorrow, but for today it could be 14k or it could be 8k.
It's J4! Go for it Ray. Get that 100k. The jury is still out on the scoring process, but if you could finish a game before midnight CST, it would help to figure out how blocks are formed.
hmmm, based on that, there are many possibilities: Ray's latest block definitely stretches into 6/27 which is the 31st day Torchmaster's oldest block definitely includes the score on 4/25 The best explanation is that there are more detailed time stamps hidden in the metaverse database. If that is so, the data only rules out my theory and fixed 31-day blocks. [Message Edited]
This new method works well for all the numbers I have crunched, Staffa's, Rays, yours, and Otakun's. No point with ricbayers. Make blocks Take sqrt (no rounding no truncating) Degrade (truncation) Sum List score should pop out. Up to you to double check, and determine the exactly how blocks are organized.
Your calculations check out, but the truncating has worked on every single instance except for yours. I'll have to check on truncating after the degradation rather than the sqrts.
Ok rapid calculations Otakun: Two Blocks 34200 (2) 84338 (8) Sqrt and Truncation 24183 29817 Degradation 22973.85 - Total (Rounding) 52791 Total (Truncating) 52790 - right Definitely truncating!
- 30 and 31 days (depends on month of submission and adjusted per last submission in individual blocks... well Ray's submissions don't have a distinction here) 4/3 to 4/26 - 9 games 4/27 to 5/27 - 11 games 5/28 to 6/26 - 12 games 6/27 to 7/27 - 16 games this one is it, check it. Ice Mole: Maybe last step is a rounding step?
Ok, I'm taking a look at ricbayer. 2 blocks 8893(1) 102440(11) raw square roots 8893 30886.82 truncations 8893 30886 degradations 8448.35 - sum without last block truncation 39335.17 -> 39335 sum with last block truncation 339334.35 -> 39334 (right) So there is definitely truncation of the last block. Ice Mole could you check your calculations? Only yours seem to break the mold.
Icemole: A block for July is 31 days. A block for June is 30 days, A block for May is 31 days, etc. (i.e. Ray's blocks are 27/07-27/06, 26/06-28/5, 27/05-27/04, and 26/04-28/03)?
An excel spreadsheet should work very well. Use several summations and it should work really well. Just a big long list of scores and dates. Although you will have to create the groupings by hand.
Looks like I didn't truncate for the last block of scores before adding. I'll have to take a look at another sample set of scores. The way C and C++ programming works makes truncating really easy but it doesn't always have to happen.

Forum.asp takes at least 3 arguments: BID: GF=Galatic Forum, GC=Strategy Forum, GM=Mod Forum id: determines the thread and page number #: determines the post that is being centered on In IE, it's a two step process. In the first step, the browser adds two arguments, BID and id. In the second step, the browser adds the third argument,
According to my estimation, submitting the game tomorrow should increase his numbers significantly - around 800 points. Sometimes that is even more than people get for new submissions.
Nice data, Ice Mole. The calculations for the list score generates only integers - gives quite a bit away. The blocks are the same and the division by the square root is still the same. Instead of rounding, there is a step of truncation as floating point values are converted into integers. #s 2660 7005 32150 60862 Degredation and addition happen in floating point and the total comes out to: 99970.5 Truncation again back to integers and the
Hmm, from your the list of your scores, it looks like if you had just waited one more day, you would have had it. Resubmit the game tomorrow. :)
