Could we get a model -> new unit creation guide? in Ashes Modding

Hello all. Simply, as the title, I don't see any way to actually bring in 3rd party models and animations to create new units in the game via a mod. It seems that the meshes are baked in some way... not using a standard model format anyways. Could we be provided with some instruction on how to bring our own models into the game as new units?
