The fix is likely going to be the removal,of the 5 turn wait for the human which can be done in elementaldefs.xml
Thank you thank you thank you! I win I win I win! :) This will make games very challenging and scary from the getgo. If you could though could you program a grunt rushing AI that might go on a scorch n burn tear vs the player and other AI's? ;)
I'd just like the FE rule to apply properly thanks. If I wanted MOM rules i'd play MOM.
Sorry, but this game is suppose to be the SPIRITUAL successor to MOM so if it's going to make that claim then it needs to be A LOT LIKE MOM! ;) So let it be written so let it be done. :_)
Bring back the MOM rules with the two options. Either you raze it when you get it or you can't raze it afterwards or you can raze it at any time any point in the game. MOM rules rule. ;)
The answer to your question is no.
See I told you so. ;)
Nope, I have never heard of it.
Do a google. One of the best boardgame fantasy games made. You actually designed the playing area every game since the map tiles were like 6 inches each and hexagon. There's a computer version of it also that fans made. Has quite the challenging AI too. Those henchies will stomp your butt in that game also. ;)
Quoting willie sanderson, reply 21 I like the idea of only being able to cast it ONCE per game. Makes a player THINK before using it. And that's what STRATEGIC games are about...THINKING. Let's introduce a bug that makes Pioneers non-functional. Makes the player THINK before setting up his capitol. And that's what STRATEGIC games are aabout...THINKING. &nbs
hehe after posting that it looked like I worked for Stardock. I just want to clarify I dont Would love to
Yah huh, it amazes me how well you KNEW EVERYTHING and in the right places too. HE WORKS FOR STARDOCK beware!! ;)
Doesn't bother me in the least since that's the way MOM did it (though the player had the right to raze at any time as well). I don't want this 5 turn restriction though. If you're going to FIX IT FROGBOY then make it IMMEDIATELY for both sides. :)
I really like FE. I really do. But I continually discover that there's no beating this simple army composition: 1-2 "tank" units that soak up damage, + masses of high-damage, defenseless ranged units. The AI can't deal with this, and it doesn't know to use this tactic either. What you need is all units to have high initiative so they can move first. Have your tanks move toward the enemy, to draw aggro and stop them from getti
Excellent, thanks. So it looks like we can expect the beta to start some time around next Thursday.
No yu shouldn't EXPECT anything. You can HOPE it starts next thursdays but to EXPECT something is out of the equation since things change and deadlines increase. ;)
Quoting WaitingOnTheGame, reply 18 Frogboy. you yourself have designed a good game before with Gal Civ 2, though tbh you did dud it up to the max with the original Elemental. As someone who was once a successful and competent game designer you should recognize brilliance when you see it and hand Soren the keys to the company. Jesus Christ dude, that's just fucking rude. If you bought it outside of the timeline of 2010 you don't get it free. ;)
Can I have your stuff? ;)
Noticing that the AI often has hundreds of units, many of which aren't a threat, but the AI does raid/steal resources with them, it's what should be done, but it's annoying to deal with and really not fun. This is a problem that is common in Stardock games, GalCiv II had this problem as well. This is probably just me stating my preference to move fewer, more powerful units. Solutions:
Same here I've never seen this happen. Perhaps at extreme or higher difficulties it does (as well it should since that's why there are higher and harder difficulties). To many people complain when a game is made challenging without the AI being actually better at strategic and/or tactical play. Those types of games are RARE and I do mean RARE indeed. The majority of games on higher difficulties allow the AI to have extreme advantages and handicaps. THat's really to be expect
It will be interesting to see if STEAM allows one to gift to himself or his/her own account. Let us know.
The other games I played before(1.20) both on Normal and Challenging I thought they expanded to fast. Only played 1 so far but out of 3 only 1 AI had more cities than me.
Yes but everybody doesn't EXPLOIT Pioneer spam like others do. Some of us like to give the AI a chance and make the game more fun and challenging than rushing Pioneers out as fast as we can. ;)
Nice avatar btw is that you?
@Willie - if you don't have anything constructive to say then don't fill the forum with garbage, it's really getting a bit tiresome. Adding a smiley face to your post doesn't make it humorous or any less annoying. In particular in this case, the post is in in the Support area where we want it taken seriously. This is not working as designed, Frogboy stated some time ago that the 5 turn limit was added as
Or possibly it would be better to pre-generate where the treasure is, so that each time you reload, it will be the same. That would remove the temptation just fine.
+1 yep that's better than CHEATING. But, it should be pre-generate what the treasure IS and then if someone saves and reloads they'll get the same thing every time. ;)
Wow what a CHEATER you are and you expect THEM to CHANGE the game to the way YOU WANT TO PLAY IT? LMFAO hahahaha I think I have finally seen the most stupid suggestion evah. lololololol
Even a dazed person can swing and hit in a boxing match and many times come back from it quickly. So wild swings are not unheard of from a dazed player. The only thing I would adjust to it is the ability to hit stat but I wouldn't reduce it to ZERO chance. So, Working as Designed right now. ;)
