No - another computer player was at war with them. They decided they were going to lose and gave their whole empire to me. Which frankly should be considered another bug since they were orders of magnitude stronger than me and their enemy was about equal with them. They certainly were not in a major losing situation. They almost tripled my empire size.

Try a reboot of your computer. Depending on how they secure username and pw in memory it might be locked to prevent hacking until you reboot.

I did what you said but my email and cd key are already in there. I still try to update the registration and get a popup window that says account expired (ref 3). In the list of games I have already (Galciv 1, Altarian prophecy, GalCiv 2 and sins - they all have my correct email address and cd keys. There is an expiry date tab and they all say none. I guess I could unregister the game as it is an option but then can I re-register with the old key or will I lose the game?

Impulse says account expired in Galactic Civilizations II GalCiv2 Forums

I have the original game with no expansion packs. I lost my disk and decided to reinstall it through impulse. It shows up under my games in impulse but will not install as it say my account has expired. I found a work around by downloading Stardock Central which had no problem recongizing my account and game key and downloaded the game right away. Hope you get this fix since you want to move to impulse and get rid of SDCentral.

Well the better start working on that sequal then! That is really too bad because even Moo2 had the abiltiy to let you play as other races. Can't remember if they had internet play but they at least had a hotseat option. Also the abilty to zoom out on the main map area would be a helpful as well. Heck a better option to alt-tab than hitting control alt delete to tab out would be great too.

Two things I really feel that are missing from this game are: The ability to play the other races with races bonus and negatives, The ability to play a network, internet game with my friends. My friends and I have been looking for a game we can play over the internet - we all live in differents parts of the country now and want something that we can play for a hour or two and save the game so we can pick it up later .
