I'm a PC tech. We got this graphics "artist?" that insisted that he had to have a Mac to match the "Industry standards" I can't believe my boss fell for it...but sure enough...he has his Mac. He's always calling me asking me how to fix his Mac. It cracks me up. I've never used one and don't really care too. What I think is the coolest thing to do is start ragging on his "M

I just think it's unfair to build up a stereotype like that. I can guarantee you that I've met a boat load of PC users who get offensive about their PCs and say (ignorantly) that macs suck... but I don't go and say that all PC users are ignorant and ask "why are PC users so ignorant" etc... i just think it's unfair to label people like that. And I'd say that I'm entitled to feel this way, so don't go bashing me for expressing this. FINAL POINT: PCs are fine computers for home

Well my point was that how can you say "what's the deal with MAC users?" That's kind of irony in and of itself... because that's a complaint. You're complaining about mac users complaining. Seems kind of redundant. And about the 20% thing. The real figure is somewhere around 11%, sorry for the mix up. I found an article from a Syracuse paper about it. it states that the installed home base of Apple computers is about 11%, not counting businesses (who rely on PCs not because they'r

Actually, paxx, there was an article in the Register explaining what I just said, the facts, that about 20$ of computers in use and working today are Macs. That's the truth. People buy PCs more and more because they go obsolete after like 2 years, and Intel has people brainwashed into thinkinkg GHZ = power, so poeple want to buy new machines. Then they either throw away their old machines, or give them away. <img src="http://images.stardock.com/images/smiles/jokegrim.gif" border=0 ALIGN="absm

Actually spiderbyte, almost every PC user I've encountered that found out that I've got a mac started up an ignorant one sided debate about how macs suck. PC users are just as protective of their computers than mac users are, and despite mac users being a minority, you can't just ignore them, because depite the fact that mac users have 3% market share, they make up about 20% of the computers that are in use today <img src="http://images.stardock.com/images/smiles/joke.gif" border=0 ALIGN="absmi

Plus there are no games for the mac This is the most common misconception about macs. Just another ignorant comment. If you go online and look around, you'll find all the top games that are made for the PC are also made for mac... just to name a few: Wolfenstein, Starcraft, Warcraft, Unreal Tourney, EA sports games, Medal of Honor seri

I've got an iMac G3 500mhz, a PM G4 DP800, a PM G5 1.8GHz, and a PC 1.8GHZ AMD... and in all honesty, the 500mhz imac is much better overall than the pc. They both have the same 512mb ram, etc, but the PC just doesnt cut it... now all my comps have their strong points, but I'd give up the best PC in the world for a mac. If you think there's less software for mac, that's not necessarily true... there are over 10,000 native Apps for mac os x, and all of these apps are widely known and

Nothing I haven't seen in other OS's before... and by the time 2006 rolls around, this will be old news... I wish MS would just release something this year, even if it is dumbed down... just a little taste of Longhorn... Based on what I've seen in screenshots, it looks incredibly bulky and unorganized... but MS doesn't care, right? Millions of lemmings will still pay $$$ for it, and Gates will boost his earnings tenfold. <img src="http://images.stardock.com/images/smiles/wink.gif" bor

#41 by Sir kongit - 3/26/2004 8:46:05 PM I don't think this should be a sticky thread. It isn't vitally important and mostly affects those who can rate. Most of the people that can rate have an understanding about ratings, and those thay don't understand can always ask. Additionally if those that can rate already do or don't give a flying rats ass. While good in intent I

I usually only (until now) rate walls, OD icons, bootskins, and some sysmetrix stuff... most of which can be rated and commented on without downloading. HOWEVER, I do agree that before leaving comments, one should download a skin. Ratings, on the other hand, can always be chanmged if a grave mistake was made that had been discovered upon download. Now, let's get back on topic and see about making this a sticky thread. What I said in the opening post is the real stuff to follo

Therefore this thread is rather useless besides for walls and screenshots. Not at all. Obviosuly walls and screenshots are just viewable and nothing more, but other "viewable" categories are ObjectDock, Graphics, many DX Objects, etc. Everyone has their own system of rating, so mine may be a little different. But honestly, if a skin h

c242 and wstaylor: I CANNOT stress this enough: Please please please please please please DO NOT turn this thread into a flame war. If you want this thread to be sticky, and I think we all do, then please keep the comments to a murmur, rather than a roar. By the way, wstaylor, I did what I could for the Lonhorn wallpaper, but even giving it an 8 (which I did) only raised it up to a 5.

wait wait wait.... this is kinda like Intel finally saying to all the braindead walmart-pc users that GHZ dont equal performance... So there IS too much JUNK??? But I thought... Ok, what I'm getting at, is that if there's too much junk, don't complain! And last but not least: IN ORDER TO ELIMINATE JUNK, RAISE MODERATION!
