Nothing that is done, or decided to/for this site is done lightly, but [in spite of Moshi's opinion... ] is anguished over on a communal level, be it by inoccuous threads such as this one....or by comments bounced around between the 'senior' members of the site. None of us is deaf, you know.....we do listen... I am sure you are right but Brads i

Re post #136....Frogboy doesn't need to 'defend his products'....they haven't done anything wrong.... <img src="http://images.stardock.com/images/smiles/lol.gif" border=
A poll can be 'fun' but sociology will tell you that it is never founded in reality, at least never accurate. Wording/slanting can control an outcome. Topicality can engender prejudice... Totally agree. Hence why i did not put much emphasis on this aspect during our discussions. By the way i have tried to do a statistical analysis but as usual
Leo....re #133....it is a hell of a lot more important to respect and protect existing skins and their owners on this site than to suggest that we shove them aside with scant regard to appease a new vocal 'minority'. Did I say that......No.....Did I suggest that.....No......Did i imply that......NO i did not. My suggestion was to place them in an
Philippe.........but you will need a very big hard drive
Any follower of skinning knows that one of the most talented icon makers is FOOOD and FOOOD has just released a stunning set of 250 icons called icandy junior. Check out these little Beauties on the link provided. They have even been featured on the Windows XP website. If yo
moshi.......i am not upset........you would know it if something had really upset me....i just feel like many others do that a small yes small change is required to keep up with the flow. I love this place and have defended and sung the praises of Wincustomize and Stardock in many debates in the past and converted many people both via personal contact and message boards to come over to Object Desktop and use Wincustomize. However there are times when even the best need a little "shove" to remind
Jafo........Thanks.........will do
That wouldn't be a good idea. Otherwise the graphics section would end up being a catchall for the hundreds of skinnable progrmas that we don't have sections for. What a surprise !!!!! NOT Regarding Beatnik --
But Leo, although I support your argument, and even though in so many words I find Brads posts a little rough, he is right. Kona.....How is he right???......From where i stand all Brad has done is given a "knee jerk" reaction and then launched into the defence of his products.
Trillian is a good example [or one's ignorance of it is] of how a perception of a skin proggy's popularity can be insular or even myopic, and shows that one's arguments relating to popularity or significance may be flawed. Nice and clever choice of words. I admire your tact. OK so put it to the test and lets see what the membership of this site w
Beatnik, for example is such a simple little proggy that it makes an ideal starting point for the 'noob' who wants to be able to say he has 'skinned something'....and is a good launching place for more adventurous endeavours...so its place can be justified. [it's one proggy I've never skinned]. Well that is exactly what Rainlendar is and wo
Leo.....removing a section is a pretty severe step....perhaps even disrespectful....to those who may have contributed to those sections....so is not really a viable option So we appease a very small number skinners and users to the detriment of the feelings of many people within the community??? That does not make sense nor does it hold water. So
The best one i have ever seen was of a python which ran all the way down this females back with the head going into her.........well i will leave that to your imagination
Kona, I'm an AMD man through and through.....always have been, always will. yrag, I like Wizard yrag.....got a certain ring to it don't you think
Jafo.......OK.......so why have we still got sections for Beatnik and Kewlpad to name but two. Forget the history of why they were put on the site in the first place - why are they still here now when they could be replaced by a more popular programmes? Fuzzy.....Funnily enough thats what my thoughts were but i did not wish to appear flippant when we were told earlier in the thread that maybe Trillian is going to be the next section on WC. I wonder what would happen if someone started a
These are the new icandy junior icons by Foood. There are 250 of them !!!!!!!!! I have submitted this as a news item but for some reason the submission does not seem to be going through which maybe a server problen so i have posted it here on the message board as well. If it turns out i have duplicated i can only apologise. [Message Edited]

Yrag..........you were spot on......it was set at 100 which is the old athlon/duron setting. I set it to 15 X 133 and everything went smoothly. I then read my motherboard manual (Asus A7V266-E) and it appeared as though my CPU Type Freq Setting was still at Athlon/Duron so i chopped the jumpers across to Palamino and hey presto the BIOS kicked up the XP 2400 chip next boot up. Thanks mate, your are a star when it comes to these techy things. <img src="http://images.stardock.com/images/smiles
The silence is almost deafening
Thanks guys i will give it a whirl. Cheers.
Today i threw caution to the wind and saw a great deal on an AMD XP 2400 CPU and so i purchased it. Installed it and everything goes like a rocket ship however when I booted up the BIOS gave me three CPU options - Manual, 2000 mhz and 2666 mhz. I went for the 2000 mhz option as i believe the chip is designed to run at this speed however when i boot up and look in the system device manager it shows the chip as XP 2000+ whereas it is an XP 2400. Is this right or am i missing something. <img src="h
Brad.......who is jumping up and down????? I'm not - i hope i am trying to make my/our case in a mature and adult manner. If you think we have not made our case then you have not bothered to check out what i have said about the DA aspect. Neither have you done your homework on download statistics on what i would call "redundant" sections. If you think that my/our evidence is based on screenshot counts you certainly have not bothered to read anything i have said. At no time
KG.......morning ma'am The polls did not give Rainlendar a chance - and with general apathy towards voting in the polls what did we or you expect. Please look at DA and check out my statement and then tell me that Rainlendar is not popular. Surely then we could say that ***if*** a Rainlendar section was introduced to WC then it would be more popular than at least half a dozen se
