Jafo.....exactly the point i was making hence why i did not want to quote figures however in my humble opinion my statement regarding DA will stand up to scrutiny. Just look at some of the "recent quality rainlendar skins" on DA and then see how many downloads there are for each one in such a short space of time. That, for my money, gives you a true idea of how popular Rainlendar now.....at this moment

Just one other thought before i shut up.......well for a few hours anyway. Lets look at this from a business point of view. There are people out there who use Rainlendar with or without Windowblinds. Whichever persuassion they come from, if you had a section here, then you would get quite a few visitors who would realise that their desktop could look even better with Windowblinds or by getting the whole shooting match with Object Desktop. They would also be introduced to the interesting world of

Ok........there are lies, damn lies and there are statistics but i am not going to bore everyone with figures. Just pop over to DA and look at the Rainlendar section there. Have a look at some of the recent good quality uploads to the section and tell me the figures of total downloads so far do not show that Rainlendar is "popular". What grieves me even more is that some of the authors are great members of this site. If we took this section out of DA and put it here on WC and

Some of you guys have stolen my thunder and make some very valid points. One burning question is how do we judge Rainlendars popularity?? This is a difficult one and i am going to try to come up with some statistics of my own. Leaving figures aside - Why do i say it is popular? 1. Just look at peoples screenshots and desktop profiles 2. Look at any popular Windowblinds Skin - free ones or paid for suites - which two skins are popular requests? Sysmetrix and Rainlendar - either made by th

This is almost an uncanny thread bearing in mind the current swell of opinion towards having a Rainlendar section on this site BTW welcome back grayhaze.....thought you had not been around for a while. Hope you are all fixed now.

Brad..........i have read your comments and respect your opinion but you are making the mistake of underestimating the popularity of Rainlendar. Before we "lock horns" on this subject i am going to consider my response carefully and then i will return to this thread so we can debate this matter further. I must say that many of us will be very disappointed by your post. I am going to be "like a dog with a bone" on this subject. ><img src="http://images.stardock.com/images/smiles/mad.gif"

#6 by Jachyra - 9/29/2003 11:05:59 AM On a side note, you don't need to reboot for the files to show up. Just close the program and reopen it and voila. Same with Sysmetrix. Hmmmmmmmm.........must have changed in the new version as whenever i used to load a new skin i found it would not show up until i rebooted. Thanks for that Jachyra. <img s

Just read the thread which started all this commotion. paxx........you are spot on........nuff said. BTW......it took me several minutes to get myself together after reading the other thread. I don't think i have laughed so much for a long time.

I think there have been times when, if most of us are honest, that we have put something on a thread that we regret later and wish in hindsight that we had kept our mouths shut. In general i find the moderation on this site first class and usually the offenders are given enough rope by the moderators before they hang themselves. Jafo, not sure what actually prompted your question as this is the first thread i have read this morning however you and KG and all the others Mods do a great j

When you say rainy i assume you mean rainlendar.........which is a separate programme to systemtix.........google rainlendar and you will find rainys site and download it........i aaume you raised this question as you had downloaded a skin which had both a rainlendar and sysmetrix skin inside.......when you unzip just place the respective skins in the respective theme or skins file in the Rainlendar and Sysmetrix file and away you go........you must reboot first for the Rainy skin to show up in

I'd like to second Zodiaq's comments - yrag you deserve it, you are always giving good advice and together with IPlural you guys certainly have got your tech heads switched on. I have often looked at your comments and assistance and learnt something new. Good on you. Leo leaves the thread so China and yrag can continue their wonderful love hate relationship.

To my knowledge there are no sound schemes that are "ready made" on the net - the problem is that the size of the file for all the sounds would be quite large hence the reluctance to make a full package. There is also the obvious problem that many of the sounds are copyrighted so distribution via a scheme can be tricky legally. I have designed several sound schemes of my own by downloading individual WAV sounds and then putting them together into one scheme. There are sever
