A colony ship is more than just a transport vessel. It contains all those little bits and pieces that you need to house and protect your colonists and while you are at it why not let them canibalize the ship for power sources, building materials and all those hi-tech materials needed to get a colony off and running. :D

:notsure: Drats. PQ is 20. That is not fair!
Sorry. :d Before the building I had 80BC incoming from Earth and it was taking 104BC to keep the planet going. I finished the building and when I saw it, the income was still 80BC and the outgoing was 108BC. I had calculated the outgoing increasing but I wanted the income to increase as well. Thanks.
I was playing around a bit and decided to boost my economy a bit so I dropped a building that added a 5% increase to planetary economy and found it gave me nothing extra. Earth is at 100% approval and all I saw was an increase in money going out. What is going on?
I would like a ship that can attack planets while I am waiting for my transports to slug their way across to where I want them. It should have a penalty of destroying planetary improvements (0% - 15% chance to damage one) or maybe even reduce the quality of the world by 1 (0% - 3% chance) as well as reduce the population by a good bit (1% - 2% per ship attacking). This just goes to show what will happen when you start throwing energy down at valuable planets.
Okay, this has probably been al hashed out and settled/explained to death earlier but since I only started playing last week, I would like to know! How do you calculate the planetary economy for maintenance? I am just a little confused why my planet has an income of 104BC and the detail window says I have a maintenance cost of 64BC but the planet is chewing up a total of 167BC every month in maintenance. What am I not seeing here?
