Cotal. I am now intrigued by you. Can I ask what games you have played. Were you weaned on Civilisation and Alpha Centauri etc, or other strategy games? You certainly have a gift for strategy
Hehe . . . The first games I ever played with any interest or success were . . . Sim City, Black and White and Net Hack 3.4 which I still haven't conquered (doh!). I like GC because I can leave it running most the time since it's turn based (no gosu skill required). My favorite all t

Thanks bakka . . . hehe I wonder what Fleet Admiral requirments are? I think its safe to say you'll be up for promaotion befor me Ray your only a single game shy of the magic 300k! Newfy . . . good luck with your new job, a change is as good as a holiday. In regards to your querry about terror stars the answer I guess is both. Basicaly if it doesn't flip I send out a detail of 10 constructors upgrading the facility into a Terror Star to destroy the system (ruthless I know). <br
Feel free to write a script Truzenzuzex its a community endevour . . . just email mwa ;)
Thanks Stardock for the new rank . . . :) [Message Edited]
LMAO . . . great stories! Real good stuff . . . Killa the influence hording stratergy is a method of getting an very early alliance with all or at least most of the AIs and minors on Maso (befor capital ship). Rainbird has dibs on the idea but basically you just top up all your tech trading with influence points at every given opportunity with AIs and minors alike when possible. No matter how patheticly your doing in tech terms or millitary might the AI 'spins out' on your apparent cult
russellmz2 . . . your right these are the kindest, happiest forums I've sver had the pleasure of participating in :)
Yes! . . . um, well mabye, aw shucks, I guess not :( . LOL
ricbayer - Congrates on the fruit of your labors . . . way to go!
Congratulations Blue . . . well played! Off topic:- Well an old friend of mine just arrived unexpectantly from France. I haven't talked to him for over a year since he became a Tibetian Buddist Monk . . . Its been an interesting day :notsure: People still debating about maso . . . well I say bring on 'Nightmare' . . . hehe . . . j/k.
Mabye its just me but I noticed in the last couple of games I played some techs I purchased from the other AIs aren't coming across. This only happens when I buy more than two or three techs at a time . . .
Theoden of Rohan . . . no point strugling against the pressures of that dam thing called reality . . . better off doing it when your creative juices are flowing freely . . .
LMAO My vomit smile was edited! Good call actualy I thought better of it but it was too late to change my post . . . Stydracos WOW! All I can say is well done and I'm glad your on our side! Thanks for your kind praises all! Getting there by one point with a gigantic was blind luck . . . In pure ANZAC Republican tradition more Arse than Class! LOL . . . I'm starting to think those sleepy empires we just past over the last couple of days are beguining to wake up . . .
Hows Y gonna find out? LOL
My many moods . . . :) ;) :D LOL :p ;p :d (:( >:( :( :notsure: :sniff!: :CONGRAT: :HOT: :SURPRISED: and who could ever forget :VOMIT: I finally beat maso gigantic! Yeay! . . . Numf, I kinda figured out a surefire way (I think) to win at maso in the last couple of games involving 'hording influence points' (Rainbird actually gave me the idea . . . she's a genius!) . . . just snuk over 200k too . . . hehe @ 69 games that's a kack! I think I'll take a very long break and wa
One more little morsel for the great Threadzilla . . . ;) [Message Edited]
Newfy I can appreciate how you feel, I think I might take a break for a while too. Although I'm enjoying playing more difficult levels (?) I'm a bit burnt out and real life (my family is returning from overseas this week) issues will mean I just won't have time pretty soon . . . Jeff and Rainbird your posts cracked me up completely! Hillarious stuff LOL . I have to say the last game I played (maso/huge) was the wierdest one ever . . . it was a complete spin out!!! I ha
One million big ones! Yeay! Woot! Yiha! Congratulations to all our ANZAC Republicans :CONGRAT:
I still get CTDs rarely . . . it kinda bothers me only a little, I think the programing/code is pretty unique so it's to be expected. I'm sure if SDs buget was bigger a lot of things could be resolved . . . inter compatibility wise. Unfortunately GC seems to have become pigeon holed by some critics and seems to appeals to only a particular kind of statergy gamer . . . mabye it's just a small niche market. :notsure:
Some of us have made suggestions to factor starting positions into the scoring.
That's a great idea! I have a Cntl-N addiction . . . it's quite sad really but I don't think I could cope without it (especially when I'm crammed into the corner with a penumbered range which I seem to get 40% of the time . . . shez). I prefer a central location even if I don't get as many planets I'd like, it's still a huge advantage in its self.
Top of the mornin' to ye too ye old space dog up there ye over yonder . . . Me Rum was off as be also me belly diz morning . . . LOL
Ray please don't let it get to you . . . I've been reading some of the nasty stuff posted here and there too . . . your still number one in my book, um, well you know what I mean . . . cheer-up, what is it some famous english monarch once said . . . 'Let them eat cake' . . . hey thats yet another pun, I should take sick days more often . . . ;)
So much for an intelligent ANZAC
But our humour is the only thing that seperates us from the savages . . . :sniff!:
Opps! I didn't see that big post . . . WoW, some great suggestions there! Rainbird that 'cheese' of offering one influence point works on Maso too (sometimes), especialy when you've just researched or built something that enhances your diplomacy or overall influence . . . The more I think about it though the less chessy I think it is because buying some wonders and putting yourself into dedt for a dozen turns is risky stuff. Ohhh, We're getting so close to the big 1 million .
Ricbayer . . . its a tactic I happened across quite honestly by accident. I noticed that on Painful and Crippling that all the AIs were friendly most the time because I was so far in front with TGs, wonders and Technology, trade didn't seem to figure in the equation at all (which was a suprise to me). With Maso it seems (admitedly I've only tested this three times so far so its only theory) a high diplomatic rating achieves the same effect. So all you have to do is concentrate on allyi
