StarWars Galaxy (SWG?) . . . I've read that its 'lack of apparent depth' is a temporary issue. Which is to say a number of expansions were pre-planned for it ($$$). If that's true . . . we'll just have to wait and see. Thanks for the nice review though (please keep us posted!). Galahs have long life-spans too! My mum has a Cockatoo (same kinda thing?). Mum calles him a 'white devil', and it's for good reason! He's outlived half our family and nearly bit my finger off when I was five! Da

Morality check events keep crashing (TD) my long games can post debub (when I get home) . . . Thanks.
Mabye its a glitch but I had a 1.05 game where the prison ships (3 of them) had 1160 HP each? I didn't bother doing anything about it (I just got frigates) but the other AI's got really 'gun ho' about taking them down. Naturaly I sat back and reaped the benifits of thier expensive Kamakasi attacks . . . :)
L:MAO HJIOh ROFL . . . LOL I'm sorry the post directly above me (AIL.ST) is hilarious . . . erhm. Well nowa what you gotta do is a get in there and um you know buy stuff and sell stuff and um . . . well it's a start anyway. - Good luck! [Message Edited]
Kinda know what you mean Peter, I was playing a game where I forgot I was destablizing someone. Anyhow we allied . . . much later I finally noticed my mistake, but they never said a word? Destabilizing would be kewler if there was more specific feedback : (i.e. they have war party, you would destabilize by sending in peace activists, they have a merchant party, you could destabilize by sending an anti-galixization group . . . etc etc). This could be automated but at
With my Laboritory work on a 'counter' to the plauge of mutant Toads a dismal failure I will instead devote my time to contacting this 'Mr Elric Banana' fellow (whoever he is) to pecure his services. In addition by a fluke serendipity I have found the ultimate weopeon should Mr Banana require support. The " W.I.G.G.L.E.S ! " :SURPRISED: Naturaly these later mentioned mercenaries would only need to be called upon as a last resort, still its nice to know they're there
RayChua and Gerakken I really want to believe me! In this game I'm trying to finish at the moment (day 3 Medium Painful Rare), I actualy catch myself 'swearing' at the PC in uter disgust (frustration = fun)! It's a war of attrition just me and the Trodians left with whom I've been at war since the start. I can't quite get my claws into them because all thier planets are around the edge of the map . . . I'd strangle thier skiny necks if I could just get a hold of them. It's an interest
Interesting . . . you offcourse can Ally with the minors but combining with them . . . mmm, well you can flip them I guess (I think). I kinda like them as they are independent . . . they're my gravy train! I totally agree with you about the morality issues though, although not so much in a penalty sense but rather that a 'trustworthness' scale needs to be worked into it somehow? I don't know what the solution would entail . . . :p
Those %$@*ing Bastards! I was wondering why my population was always so 'bummed' out (even with 5000 channels of intergalactic mud wrestling etc). When I saw the ammount of bc the computer was spending on 'destabilization' in recent games I was really shocked! :SURPRISED: I humbly ask, what can I do about it in a tight economy? The main problem it gives me is a low population growth which really bothers my expansion and invasion plans. I've tried most of the high upkeep amuse
Hehe . . . research option 'The Marta Hari Project' LOL Mabye it can be a usefull branch off Interstellar . . .
Um . . . you know when your given some ships out of the blue to 'assist you with your valiant stuggle against the (insert race name)', Well the whole going into stasis thing kinda put these ships at a disadvantage. You see if your a few sectors away from free-movement space you can't attack anything on the way . . . i.e. you click on an enemy ship and the 'your not allowed to go there everyones asleep' message comes up. Inevitably this often leads to the demise of these poor ships . .
'Kane' Toads are awful, I won't go near them (yuk!). One of our dog's pups went blind in one eye after an altercation with one. What to do? :notsure: I'll be in the Lab for a while working on a 'virus' we can introduce into thier population. Mabye with a bit of old-fashion elbow grease and some modest genetic engerneering we can produce an effective counter, or alternatively create a pathogen that will wipe out every living thing in the galaxy. Its a chance I willing to take :d
Anyway (if you pardon the expression), I was playing a game last night that kept crashing to the desk top. After a few reloads the game was crashing to the desk top on start up? After a restart all seemed well . . . but the game data must of been corrupted (or something) because if I tried to reload from a particulart point (i.e. the last auto save) the whole CTD thing would happen all over again. When I loaded a previous auto saved game all was well again, no probs. Not sure what
I have an admission to make . . . Just lately, Early in the game I've been embracing 'naughtiness!' You know . . . to get a solid start (killing off whole spiecies, enslave primitives, get in with the wrong crowd etc), later on (after I've got a foot hold or strangle hold depending on how you want to look at it) I start acting all nice . . . It's all a sham, I'm so ashamed! Butt seriously (kinda), shouldn't the game remember how much of an arsehole I was being earlie
Sell it to a strugling enemy or just give it to them outright, it's a good way of destroying thier economy . . . hehe! I like giving my 'back stabbing buddies' losta millitary transports (which I never seem to end up using), thier maintanance is kinda high (8 or 12?) . . . but that's just being cruel. :)
Bugger! Oh well 1004 posts! Hehehe :) Dam that Broker ringing me up about a stupid home loan . . . doh! [Message Edited]
Hello G.R.O.S.S people . . . lovely day isn't it :)
It's the real McCoy! Hi Drop Bear, take care and let your 'butt' beware! For these folks run a 'tight' ship, and 'incontinence' will not be tolerated . . . LOL All that subliminal cryptology I did at the academy has finaly found a use . . . Re 'confiscation and deprevation from your PC' . . . Mmmm, All I can say is try a different aproach with your spouse. Be 'Brazen' about it! Wasn't it 'Confucious' who said something like . . . "I'm settin' up my
Just quieltly (wispering) I agree with you both . . . I was trying to make the modifications seem more um . . . appelling to our Brilliant Creators (conservative I guess). And yes, I have tried Masocistic. I fell out of my chair and ran out of the room screeming and crying for help! (If and when Nightmare comes out I think I'll need to go back to psyco-therapy!). I like pretending I am a genius evey once in the while and play on Maso and can appreciate its difficulty (darm ch
Hi I've been uping the difficultly gradually but seem to be going backwards scorewise. Anyway I understand that aurgmentation of the scoreing system in future patches and the expansion isn't open for discussion but look at this . . . it does have some merit don't you think? _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ 427 by Veteran RayChua - 6/25/2003 12:04:53 AM Your approach of playing for fun instead of for score is 'correct' as well. 427 by Veteran RayChua - 6/25/2003 12:04:53 AM Your approach of playing for fun instead of for score is 'correct' as well. You will last longer this way. I wouldn't be able to guess from personal experience as I skipped some levels. But seeing how Staffa's maso gigantic only scored about double CM's calkwalk gigantic, my guess would be: Calkwalk x0.8 Easy x0.85 Beginner x0.9 Simple x0.95 Normal x1.0 Challenging x1.1 Tough x1.2 Painful x1
Awsome! Thanks RayChua . . . I'd have to agree with your 'ideal' model too (well balanced (gives beginners a fair ammont of positive reinforcement too) and makes reward worth the extra effort). Would you mind if I cut and pasted it into the expansion suggestions thread? Giving credit where its due off-course. The recoding couldn't be that difficult, and it would create a lot more room in the ladder list . . . :D
Yeah seems a bit one sided sometimes. Some good points above! I made the error of trading tech to one AI over another many times befor I realized what the hack was going on ( thats is them running off clicking thier heels together and selling my hard earned research to everyone including my enemies :D ). Just lately I've been doing a fair bit of planet trading with the minors mid game which has been working well on 'uncommon' planet maps. Querry if I may. I was playing a gam
Hello Truzenzuzex, At the end of a game (win or lose) you should go to a screen that offers you the option of submitting your score (enter your nick and your email address with which you registered) and click yey or ney. Once this info has been entered it stays in the info fields (nick/email) thereafter. Naturally you need to be on the internet at the time you do this . . . happy 4xing! [Message Edited]
