I am just a bit surprised of the "release cycle". Why not to give us to test RC "with all the bugs fixed" before making it "gold"? On the other hand I guess it's all depends on beta's "target". If beta was to test ideas, not the code, then I guess it's OK.

So Elemental gone gold... can't wait to get my hands on it. However one of the big questions is stability. So far all betas (including the latest) has been crashing and freezing on me after some time. I am "old" GalCiv / GalCiv2 / all expansions player and from what I recall bugs was the thing that was killing most of the fun there, some of them (like "can't hit "NEXT TURN" bug) were not fixed for ages. The Solar Empire on other hand was very stable. It's obvio

The problem that in 90% of cases I right click on some tile to move there (grid enabled so I see clearly) the unit moves not on the tile I clicked but to adjasent tile. I believe it's usualy one above. So it's either some bug or the mouse hotspot not set to the feather top edge.

Played the game, for a long time, at some point when attemp to move to empty tile (grid was enabled) I got a question if I sure that I want to do it (looked same as going into enemy territory but no enemy territory there) and when I pressed "Yes" game crashed to desktop.

Well it was the first time I run Elemental beta, I run it, got main screen , cursor turned into a feather and ... nothing ... could not even close the game. Rebooted PC , started it again and ... same probelm After that I pressed Alt-Ctrl-Del and saw that Elemental tries to connect somewhere and my Comodo firewall askes me to allow or not, one I allowed it to connect everything went fine. The problem is that since th

Those who cracked the game would have pirated the games anyway, aren't lost sales at all. So by creating a sophiscated DRM, it generated bad publicity, much like Spore did.[/quote] +1

I really liked the game but ... it's imposible to enjoy , how this possible you say ? - Simple, the game has limited number of turns you have to finish the mission which instead of exploring the map and building your forces, doingsidequests etc makes you always rush to the mission goal ASAP. No enjoyment ...

I really disapointed with the plot. Each time authors become too lazy to learn the Star Trek story they invent some "alternative universe" or timeline change ... And btw: I liked "old style" Romulans way more.

Does anyone READ before posting ? Look the topic "first results before even released ", my reply one post above ... Again, what hurted StarDock here is not GOO itself , and no, it's not in Demigod , but TALK about it , the fact that StarDock turned towards DRM, ok , less invaisive DRM , much more convinient DRM but still DRM. And you do not have to convince me , I just ordered Demigod because of this situation , even that I

I guess this once again proves that reputation is hard to earn but easy to loose. I remember days of GalCiv 2 and addons release where on all trackers you could find a lot of posts asking people to buy StarDock games if you like them, not just because they are good (and they are) but because StarDock is anti-DRM. Now we got GOO anounsment after which Demigod was released. Well ... numbers say it's all , just look at the link , and I noticed Demigod on the trackers even about 4
