I think that the reason that they may be sitting there is because their weren't choosing a new homeworld, so they may have been trying to go home, but getting blocked because you now owned their stars. So I just now put code in the defect function to make sure that they will choose a new homeworld.
CariElf, I'm having this same problem in all of my games. Can you tell me how to fix this?

That's an interesting idea. I should try that on my next game.
By the way, I'm going to hang around the Challenging mode from now on ;p. See if I've gotten the hang of this a little bit more. I tried Maso once... I still hurt from the beating I took (:(. [Message Edited]
I was actually shooting for my first Tech Victory until I got my score - 4568. I guess the Tech Victories are on the low totem pole. I'm not sure if this is milking but I just had to see how the scores laid out. Here's the game: Normal Difficulty across the board Medium Map Pacifist +1 Speed +20 Dipolmacy +5 Planet Quality Military 11560 Alliance 9756 Cultural (don't know I turned it off, probably around 7000) Tech 4568 In playing
Nothing like a Military Victory to start a week huh ;).
Number 2 in the standings!!!! :CONGRAT: :CONGRAT: :CONGRAT: :CONGRAT:
If you still had the code you could always try and sell it to a development company.
I would have to agree with you on that point vincible. I got a zoo escape and I wasted a lot of AMM's just to kill one of those slimy little worms. [Message Edited]
Anyone know the exact influence a starbase gives??
343% with all available Influence mods added to a starbase. Currently I have 2 deck out starbases in each sector with a Terror Star floating around the map (this was also decked out with all Influence mods). I can "flip" all planets within two turns. I was bored waiting for my tech victory :)
I took out the Torians by military rush in my current game. I forgot to turn off the Cult rating and I didn't want them to hand themselves over to anyone else. I took their last three planets and that was that. I was kinda getting kinda curious when I didn't get a defeat/death screen, I thought that I may have missed one of their planets. Should you also get the defeat/death screen when you "flip" that last of their planets?
This might have been asked before, but do the majors ever have a defeat/death screen? I see the minors coming up all the time, but I was wondering if there was something for the majors. If there isn't do you know if this will be added in the future?
I would have to agree with you Space Wombat. I've slowly built myself up in each game. I'm now working on Challenging games. I must admit though that currently I'm pushing for a tech victory on normal. I feel like I'm in a time tunnel though, will this game ever end :)!
And by the way Pontius, I have every intention of moving you to second :HOT:
Finally pushed myself off of Normal and moved to Challenging. Scored an Influence victory (damn, I have to remember to turn that off next time).

I hope you like the view from the cheap seats cause that's where you'll be LOL
Alright!!! put away my first military victory :CONGRAT:
Two more victories and we are pass the Canadians... :CONGRAT: Heading to number 1 like a shot :) [Message Edited]
Alright... two victories in one day.
You are truly a GOD in my book now :CONGRAT:
But you should get bigger bonus points still for getting her into computer games as well.
That's part of the problem. I'm on my third game because of her love of The Sims. Good thing I'm building a second computer :HOT:.
I don't know about you guys, but I think they should add an option called "married". Concentrating on a game and having my wife hovering over me should add a bonus to my score LOL .
I have a lot of those games :). I still enjoy playing Pirates! in my spare time.
This might have been asked in an earlier thread, but I was wondering if anyone was going to update the back story/history of the game? I'm one of those players that likes history to a game (Blizzard comes to mind) :).
Doesn't espionage protect your empire from certain events also? Such as your diplomat killing or offending someone.
