For TEC, I usually go Sova and Kol. The Sova's Missle pod ability is very useful for early dps in taking that first planet. with your two/three cobalts. Also if you lose a fighter or bomber squad, no biggie, it's built for free. :)

I realized this after building a whole map from reference... I'm thinking you're fine fine if you're consistent one way or another.
A question, why is the trade route limit capped at 10, when it is theoretically possible to get more, by begin good. choosing, the trade route ability, and UP issues relating to trade routes? ~SDC~
I had to hold them while in the Save as screen... until save was completed, I also held it as I clicked save as...in the file menu...just to be sure ~SDC~
Yes, hitting both shift keys allows me to save...darned if I know why it has to be both of them. I can't just save though, I have to save as, everytime. ~SDC~ [Message Edited]
Yay! The scenario editor works now! Darned if I know why it didn't before... ~SDC~ Or....not... [Message Edited]
Umm...whoever sent me that editor....thanks....but that's not the scenario editor you sent me...You sent me the map editor... The scenario editor's file name is "GCScenarioEditor.exe" I still need a copy of the scenario editor again to figure out if it's my version of the OS or the scenario editor that I recieved. I'm running Windows ME version 4.90.3000..if that makes a difference. It's from a Micron OEM back in 1999... ~SDC~ [Message Edited]
Could you try emailing me a copy of your scenario editor so I can try it out and find out if it's a corrupt download or my computer? My scenario editor takes up 124k...really (126,976 bytes) so you should be able to send your copy through email.. Email is Drassnia @ umd.edu [Message Edited] [Message Edited]
I attempted what you suggested. I should respecify the problem. I save a scenario in the scenario editor. I then close the program and attempt to reopen the saved scenario file using the scenario editor. The file opens, however, there have been no saved changes. The saved scenario file is still default blank, none of my changes were saved although the new scenario file was created. ~SDC~
Scenario Editor refuses to save any scenario files I create. What I mean to say, is that I save the file. Then I open it up again to assure that settings have been saved, it turns out none of them are. I'm runing Windows ME ( No laughing!) on a PIII 800 rig.. Latest version of AP and Gal Civ ~SDC~ [Message Edited]
In this thread please list things you like or would like to see improved in the editor programs that come with AP. Scenario editor - ability to modify starting properties of individual races..(give some AI races a head start in terms of tech or BCs - ability to modify trade profitability Map editor - alternate zoom levels accesable with the keyboard... instead of a mouse wheel ~SDC~
For the map editor....those of us without mouse wheels are sorta at a disadvantage...we can't zoom out! Actually, if we don't have a mouse wheel, any scrolling or incrementing for transports...becomes downright silly... 1...2...3... [Message Edited]
In my most recent game, I had established a merchant trading empire, with trade routes extending across the known galaxy, with 8 trade routes from Sol, and 5 routes heading to it. I was trading with everyone and I was making a 400bc profit. Then...to my horror. I recieve a event informing me that the colonists of Sol Five had the feeling that they should abandon the colony. NOOOOOOOOOoooooo I screamed, I evacuated the 35 billion souls living in the system. The evil one came and was
The reason I'm posting is that I tried to submit a game about 10 minutes ago, and Gal Civ CTD'd to desktop leaving me with a 171k debug.err probrably containing the transcript of my game. ~SDC~
Been reading for a while and have had Gal Civ since , I forget when. Anyway, with this new 1.13 patch, I see a mod directory has been added to my Gal Civ dir. Now do I do anything with it? Before, 1.13, I had lots of stuff off galciv.com, 2 custom fighters, 3 custom political parties, anomalies, sb modules, etc.. I figure it's about time I started using metaverse or something. That's why I ask. ~SDC~
A few things mostly with diplomacy.... - The ability to tell someone if you don't make peace with another race that you'll pound them into submission or cut off trade or something. I mean, comeon, I can't even threaten a trade embargo! example: Drengin make peace with the Torians or I'll kill you. At the moment there is no such option. True, you can declare war and then say make peace with them and I'll make peace with you. - Bu
