If I remember correctly, not sure if it was another thread, I remember them saying that they had direct permission from the maker of the X games to do this, which I believe is Egosoft, so there wouldnt be anything illegal. Also if you know the peps working it on it, like Stefan, you would know they wouldnt do anything like that. They are good peps working way hard to get out an awesome mod! But Im sure Stefan can give you more detailed answer than I can!
Nice find!BTW if you do use this for the Terrans then try changing the name to Saturn as you then get the bonus for the rings too!Bonus for the rings? do you get more points if you have a planet with ringsIt makes me think of sonic the hedgehog and his power rings
Planets with rings get a Science bonus and moons get a Production bonus I believe...or is it the other way around??
Got the xml stuff covered. Can you draw?
Barely even stick figures!!! I was horrible in art class and it took everything I had to even pass. I even almost got booted from the "dot to dot" class haha. Sadly, when the Big Guy upstairs was passing out Artistic type talent...I missed that line totally! Still, if you need a hand with any mundane stuff let me know...if not Ill still be happy to use your material and give feedback...which is usually like "Wow...AWE

Civ REv is a good game...but if it was on the PC it would be a let down, considering how great Civ 4 was. Im playing it now and its a very short version, meaning you can finish a game in, say 2-3 hours easy...and on the PC that wouldnt go over I bet. PC players tend to expect more length out of games and more depth. Now Civ Rev, has great content and such, but you go thru eras based on the number of techs you have researched, so you can fly thru eras very rapidly and considering that, most te

WEll this is rolling now and I feel useless since I cant design ships or such. Do you need any help with XML files or what not? Those are pretty easy to do and id be glad to help out with this even if its in a small way?

BoTF had quite a few different minors in there as well. You might get a few good ideas from those races. I also like the idea of Kazon's...even though they are delta, that shouldnt matter to much unless you are going on a strict timeline or something. Also, GREAT JOB on the ships...I have them all now Fed, Klin, Rom, and Gorn...cant wait for more!!! I found some star trek weapon sounds online and have put them in and the lasers and missiles sound great now!

I gotcha Zy and appreciate the help. I wish the mod guides would be updated to, but im thinking that alot of them dont have to be as the xml didnt change much. Im still hoping that someone who has made massive changes with events will post and let me know how they did it. Ive tried everything I can think of, and nothing has worked. And you are right, modding is never easy, but sure is fun! P.S. Im a huge xcom fan and tried your mod but failed horribly at getting it to run

I see events without the + and have tried that too, but again, for some reason good events will come up as negatives, unless you give them a zero,or nil value, meaning say nothing happens either way. Can you tell if the devs didnt in fact hardcode for good to always have a negative outcome and evil a positive? Thanks so much Kryo!

I read thru her mod guide especially on the event section, yet I think some info was left out. It almost looks like that good is hardcoded to have negative results, and evil only positive. I dont know why this would be, but I have messed around with both and any time you try to give "good" a positive value, it will be negative. You can give them a "neutral" or no penalty, but thats hardly positive. Evil is the opposite way...any time you try to give them a negative....nope...its a positive.

Nevermind I guess. I think I found my answer. I changed evil events to try and give negative bc, research, pq, or what not, and it didnt work...they still get positive events. Now how can that be right? Is it hardcoded and if so why? Neutral can have either, but as of now, unless someone knows another way, it looks like good cant have positive events, which I dont understand. They can have a 0 event or no negative event...but not a positive one. Is this true then Kryo?

I have a question for you Kryo, though I have this in another thread too..perhaps you or some others may have some insights into what Im doing wrong. BAsically, Im trying to change the events and add new ones! Ive been succesfful in the changes and additions, but.....you knew there had to be a but didnt you? All my values, when playing, come up as +- the value..so lets say I want to give 1000 bc...then it shows +-1000 bc(and it subtracts it by the way). Does this for every value, whether PQ,
