also check your refresh rates (display settings, advanced, monitor tab). your displays WILL have slower performance when split to two monitors, but it shouldn't be completely hacked. it'll depend on your video card's processor

wow, so that was it. thanks jeff. i'd excluded some things before but never thought i'd have the problem with stardock's own. i wish i could help you with your problems.. i know theres no way around Office hiding its menu's, its just the way the programs are built. for example, if you've skinned icons for your desktop and my computer (in the load or save as dialog boxes), they will show up for any problem except in office programs. they must be rooted a different way. as for a
yay! i'm number 512. all this time i thought i had a wincustomize subscription.. only had an OD one. well i'm part of the flock, a little late for christmass but i hope it helps.
my problem might have been passed over before but i'm going to exercise this nice new subscription and put my question up here with yours.. i'm having object bar issues as well. some applications do not work properly with object bar up. most notably, Roxio6 simply crashes if i try to load one of its programs up under object bar. some applications, like indesign, have visual problems (though i had, until now, attributed that to indesign's infancy). but one program has given me problems t
already a recent subscriber, but to all you visiting guys and gals - this place is worth it. you kinda get hooked. the people here work really hard to give a us a suite of programs and toys that is one-of-a-kind. if you make good use of the stuff here, its VERY worth it to subscribe. hell, i used a .. uh.. demo.. of stardock for about a week, loved it, and bought it for myself so i could have it all. the artists are going places, and the site is great. its unfortionate what's happened
now, i'm not sure if it is or not, but if livemeeting would be something included with OFFICE - the world would be a much better place. that would give a reason for pc to mac compatability, which is hard to find for video conferencing. it would also gaurantee most of the world has it.
'know what? i consider myself knowlegeable in what this process would involve, but i'm not gonna bother touching it looks like too much trouble for such a simple thing. 'sides, if i get something wrong i don't wunna sit there and kick the computer over it. when they have a program that swaps the colors and resizes for me, my lazy bum will take a look at it <img src="http://images.stardock.com/images/smiles/
damn them. netmeeting is great - theres a bunch of us who run it under compatability mode just to make it work in XP, 'cause MSN and Windows Messanger are buggy when it comes to video conferening and whiteboard. and you can't beat program control i'm gonna miss it.
heheh like so many others here, i'm in withdrawl.. i need my object dock and wallpaper fix crazy stuff guys.. but i've never seen such dedication before in keeping the community up to speed with the progress and the work you've done to keep the system up. good show! everybody give the fella's at stardock a round of applause. <img src="http://images.stardock.com/images/smiles/events.gif" b
im with kona on the maxtor's. i've never had one fail, and i've got a poor little celeron system i bought in '98 that i've pummeled and its still stable as ever. i believe our servers at work are maxtor scsi's also.
i've been waiting for this, thanks
im just curious, frogboy.. do you have stock in joeuser.com? were those two magazines owned by a higher company? changes could have been some CEO's bad idea
if you're remark, dleiburn, is alleging that my post meant 'the answer to all questions is an online music store', then i say: of course you're not going to find everything you ever wanted there. personally i'd rate online music having 2% of all music ever made. but it will grow. its not like you can get everything you wanted at any old music store, anyway. i'm getting garage recordings of the velvet underground from a professor at school. be creative.
well, i've watched the dig music battle keenly and the copyright issues that go with it. but i dont need to get into any of that now 'cause Astro already hit the maj points. you buy software and music, you purchase a LEASE. legally, you don't own it - though many people with the misconception think 'i'll buy it, i'll do what i want with it'. that is often the case with computer software. don't be too suprised to see in the near future an end user license agreement packaged with your next CD <img
(!-- someone can delete this, it was an accidental, additional post --)
thanks skin, i'll check it out. if i get something that works i'll get permission from jiaro to show off icon versions of whitemate
greg echo.. check the box for "show pre-release versions of software".. its still a beta i think, so it doesnt show up in the regular list. also be sure to click on "more" at the bottom of the list to show ALL programs available. this thing is sweet..! the first thing i tried to do was make an icon port of jairo's whitemate png's.. in a few clicks i was able to port out a transparent icon. unfortionately, the immediate icon result wasn't any better then the ones i tried to make earlier
i'm not qualified either way to get involved in the arguement, but i want to take the opportunity to thank my IT guys at work. We're engineering/construction management so aside from your normal office networking, we network to a bunch of satalitte offices all over the deleware valley. in some cases we all share the same drives, in some cases we use each others printers. we all use the Novel system for communications and VPN, and we use a contract databasing software that wires th
yeah it runs on a lynx/unix base but from what i hear its a stand alone os, built to resemble windows for ease of making a switch. since its built on a *nix core its compatible with those os's, with the flexability of java.. has Star Office already, not sure about what other apps are made for it tho.
it might be an interesting poll (if it hasn't been done already) to see what everyone uses the software fore. ie, take a look at the most popular skins downloaded and make your choices from the top 5. do people use it to make a more efficient interface, just to make windows look cool, corporate branding? i personaly went for the wunnabe-on-a-mac look... panthern OS skin, object dock with all the mac icons.. panther object bar. call me a poser, i'm too poor to get a new machin
