Paul: Isn't the customer always right? If people have been requesting this AI vs. Resources difficulty level seperation since beta-releases then it certainly seems like an important thing to implement, no? The scoring system that Sigma 7 proposes seems reasonable. Though, i don't care about the metaverse personally, and i'd be happy to have the split difficulty implemented even as an 'ini-file only' hack which would disable metaverse submissions completely. -Henkka

I think the AI difficulty level consists of three rather seperate parts: 1) How smart the AI is in general: overall diplomacy and strategy, battles, trading techs, etc. "fuzzy AI things". 2) How good the AI is at optimizing tech tree research, building social projects and economy. "exact AI things". 3) How much better/worse starting resources the AI gets. Genious or Incredible seems to have always very high quality starting planets, while fools have almost invariably o
The 1.05 versions seem pretty bad, yesterday i had the following with latest 1.05.71 version: 1) Planetlist shows outdated info if not viewed when changed (slider change or end turn)!!! 2) Planetlist and research screen often show wrong completion time estimates for one turn after changing soc/mil/research slider even after double refreshed, which cures the first bug. 3) Traded tech is lost if you were researching that tech! No 'new' tech discovered screen for traded t
Just downloaded and installed the patch, but it didn't fix my major trouble. Is anybody else experiencing this bug: If planetlist is NOT being shown when something changes (moving mil/soc/research sliders or ending turn) then it will have outdated information when later activated. For example if i look minimap when ending the turn, and then change to planetlist it still shows last turn's situation. This is new bug for me with 1.05, seems to correlate with the introduced enhanc
FrogBoy, i really think it would be beneficial to have clear distinction between 'stable' and 'development' versions. While i'm quite impressed with your commitment to support the product, it seems that a lot of bugs slip to patches. Maybe the SDC patches should be officially labelled as 'use-at-your-own-risk' and then releasing seperate 'stable' standalone download every 2-4 weeks. (Or if there already is such a policy, it should be made clear to all customers). -Henkka
Oh, a new one. In 1.05.69 I stacked 'terror star' with bunch of rangers with speed 8. For some time the fleet showed correctly movement speed of 1/8, as the terror star slowed the fleet down. However, after 10 or 20 turns this reversed to 8/1 and i was able to move the full 8 units with terror star even after disbanding the fleet. Now, thats a bad ass ship ;). In general i feel the 1.05.59 is a lot less stable than 1.04.? from the standalone 'bonus pak'. -Henkka

Three bugs in 1.05.69: 1) Something broken in planetlist's refreshing. Planetlist now refreshes interactively when the mil/soc/research sliders are changed if the planetlist if being shown. However, if the planetlist is NOT being shown when changing sliders then planetlist shows the old build times when it is later activated. Clicking once for each planet updates the information, but is way annoying.. This bug seems to occur in some other situations also. 2) In one game Drengin
