Windows 11 will officially support tabs in file explorer very soon! I dont see the point of waiting for groupy any more even though it used to work fine on windows 11.

I don't think groupy will get any improvement. It's probably the least popular stardock software and they are focusing on other things. Hopefully another company will make a good alternative with windows 11 ui that just works.

The development of groupy is really slow for windows 11. In the meantime you can use this awesome app called "Files" that has a great ui and the recent update also introduced big boots in performance.
