Have you tried setting all the enemies to thier lowest levels, and working your way up? ~SDC~
Yes. Perhaps we should cut all aid to Europe, Cut all aid to Africa, Cut our nearly 40% of all support money paid to the UN, Cut our nearly 70% of all support money to Nato, and invest in our own neck of the woods for a change.
Last time I checked, the US owed the UN their support payments, which hadn't been paid. And correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't NATO established for the defense of the US against the Soviets? And you can't blame people being wary of
Heh, In one game, the Yor ended up with 3/4ths of the galaxy with only the Torians and I left... Everyone else surrendered to the Yor. LOL ~SDC~
I once flipped several 40+ worlds last game. It was a great feeling LOL ~SDC~
Alliances are also nice for defense...as I don't play a heavy military game... Keep one or two races at close (a few minors too)...If someone declares war, or some event triggers, I instantly ally with 1-2 majors and 3-4 minors, and get the neutrals to declare war on them too... It gives me the 5-6 turns needed to churn out a massive fleet without any casualties at all...the minors tend to have a heck of a lot of small ships to occupy the attackers' attention and harass them...
Strangest thing...I'm in 1024x800 with no problems running it normally, but with the w it pops up black rectangles for a split second then nothing happens... Any way I can run it windowed? ~SDC~
If you've an active internet connection, GalCiv (should) detect it and pop up a submission screen after the endgame stats screen... ~SDC~
Maybe it's to reward people who pay attention? :p I used to build everything until I went up in difficulty and started paying attention, heh... ~SDC~
I tend to adjust my tax rates and spending every few turns...and I generally autolaunch ships too :notsure: I suppose I just don't like having too many worlds at the beginning, heh... ~SDC~
Guess you weren't very lucky in those games. ;p ~SDC~
The website is www.the-underdogs.org And if something runs too quickly, you might want to try a slow-down utility... ~SDC~
On a somewhat related note, why are my Precursor ships called Pre C ursor Ranger/Corvettes? ~SDC~
I'd just like to take a moment at this point to say I was referring to LCD monitors, not necessairly Laptops. I could be horribly, horribly wrong. :notsure: ~SDC~
The new version of Reach for the Stars is pretty neat too...demo crashes on me upon combat, unfortunetely... ~SDC~
Well, laptops generally use LCD screens right? To my knowledge, LCD screens have preset resolution sizes (as one pixel represents one, err, pixel)... Do you have any idea what the set resolution is? A 15 inch LCD is general 1024x800, while a 17 is 1280xsomething... ~SDC~
You know, I notice some turns in GalCiv nothing happens and I hit enter... (usually after the initial rush of colonization, and the building of social/military projects phase) ....and sometimes that happens a lot...and I can easily pass turns that way... But if I was playing against something else, I would have to wait and wait and wait just so I can hit the enter key again... :notsure: This applies to PBEM too...GalCiv doesn't translate too well that way, I th
Hmm, so then they're 3d wireframe models then? ~SDC~
I suppose it's because when I get around to sub-15 worlds (which the AIs don't touch), the other worlds are fairly developed, and it ends up dragging down my morale or tax rate... ~SDC~
Also my overlord ship graphics are missing... But that seems to be all games. Even after a complete reinstal...
Try saving, quitting GalCiv, and reloading that savegame. ~SDC~
Hmm...why would 13s be good if you have PQ +5%? I'm under the impression that a fully decked out PQ13 would have +25% PQ, making it 16.25, but would be under 15 until you built both PQ improvements, right? So the only real way to colonize PQ13s would be if you have the cash to rush build the PQ improvements...or maybe I just have my standards too high :p And PQ12s, btw, would reach PQ15 or PQ15.25 with PQ+5% or PQ+7% respectively, so very borderline there... :notsure
Ahhh... :notsure: But I swore I read something about you guys making detailed 3d models? And on another note: Ooo! Someone from Stardock answered me! Yay! :CONGRAT: :d ~SDC~
I think it was said that you can have up to twice the PQ of a planet in taxes without any morale drops or tax evasion... ...not counting any morale boosts, of course... ~SDC~
Wow, that does kinda sound like the Europeans :p ~SDC~
This thread was hijacked a long time ago.
Hmm, we should get some Thread Marshals... ;p ~SDC~
This is one thing... I've had 'high' or 'advanced' intel and still have someone assassinate a leader...is there any way to stop this? ~SDC~
