Aha! Thank you...I knew I saw it somewhere before, just couldn't remember from where... :p ~SDC~

Hm, I know I have few medals, but perhaps the 'former' medals should be called "Achieved" rather than former...sounds a bit better :D And what about a medal for empire position? Perhaps the top 3 members of our empires should be acknoledged? It may not mean much for smaller empires, but it's certainly prestigious if you're in the top 10 of the White Council or GROSS or one of the larger empires... ~SDC~
The 3 points is worth more...just on a cost/benefit analysis... It's just adding a percentage to your PQ...it's not noticable until you actually put PQ improvements on it, but it does come into affect... I'm not fanatical enough to know the calculations, but it's basically stacking in another PQ bonus on top of your PQ enhancing structures... ~SDC~
Yeah...it'd be better to have 'offensive', 'defensive' and different configurations like that... Maybe even changable when the ship docks for different mission payloads (Ie. when somebody declares war on you and there's a juicy resource starbase nearby...) Putting individual components on the ships ala Stars! or Starships Unlimited would really be different from GalCiv... ~SDC~
May I inquire, because I DO hear about them often- what are rangers?
It's a capital ship... You need cloaking, and a buncha other techs...I haven't noticed it actually being invisible (though that could be the 1.4 description I'm thinking of) It looks kinda neat... Haven't made your way up the tech tree, eh? :) ~SDC~
Alright, so I've managed to remove Intro.bik and sf_intro.bik by adding a .backup to their filename... Faster game load for us addicts, you know... Now which .bik is the movie file that plays at the beginning of a new game? I've been thinking of removing that as well... ~SDC~
You mean the minor races? The major's alignments are set at the start of the game afterall... And It'd be nice if we actually had more control over their alignments too... ~SDC~
What happens is everyone in the system fights, I believe... If you use information warfare, then some of them don't, and will count as your population... ~SDC~
The enemy can have your wife force you to clean? That's...most vile and evil ;p ~SDC~
I think he wants you to be able to have multiple races in the same system (but on different planets). I'd imagine this is impossible, because a lot of things are handled on a 'system' basis rather than a 'planet' basis. ~SDC~
It's very annoying... I'm a fan of being technologically advanced and bankrupting the aliens as much as possible (My last game I made 233BC a turn with an average income of -1066BC :D ) But then a new minor pops up and argh! He's got my tech and my cash and builds up wonders and trade goods. :( Stupid uppity minors... ~SDC~
Say, does this means you can have multiple trade routes between two systems? ~SDC~
Hehehehe, I almost sprayed my monitor, wampyre. LOL ~SDC~
Hm, gravity, temprerature, radiation level? Reminds me of Stars!, which is a different type of game entirely... ...and in fact is dealt with in a sideways fashion through PQ (of course, this means all aliens prefer the same type of worlds, but if they didn't, the whole 'get best planets, not most' wouldn't apply.) If you take a look at that game, you'll see why it works for them, but you'll also get the impression that it would needlessly complicates things here... Much lik
Although if you have a good enough range, the survey ship often clears out the anomalies on the far side... Of course, then you have to build more survey ships... ~SDC~
Less habitable planets is actually easier for me, I've found...I really don't know why. Maybe because with a few good worlds, I can micromanage better... Recently, I've just noticed building everything is not good (Yeah, only recently :p ) so I've yet to set up my own favoured build list... Heck, I haven't even used multiple build lists before... ~SDC~
I meant 'logically', as in "inferring from the previous post", not questioning the logic from the post. Brain fart :notsure:
A 60 or 40 doesn't change your screen though...
Errr, I think it's 70-30, but I could be really wrong. :p ~SDC~
That logical implies that "Neutral" is 50, "Pure" anything is a + or - 40, while "Chaotic" anything is a + or - 10... A 60 or 40 doesn't change your screen though... ~SDC~
Hehe, try clicking on your name in this thread or any others LOL ~SDC~
You fellows are the Undead.
Darn, guess the misdirection campaign didn't work...we'd better return our beaver costumes... ~SDC~
To my knowledge (from browsing the boards) the ships are rendered in full 3D, but are displayed top-down, correct? What a big waste...surely there's a way of using all the pretty graphics? Having the ships tilt while turning? Or have them rock (like a boat on choppy waves) whilst moving forward? Something to show off all the hard work put into the models, in otherwords... It'd be a neat idea :d ~SDC~
I never choose the evil options when trying to be good, though I often take the neutral ones if it provides a hefty bonus... ~SDC~
The Canadian theme is to be friendly until you look the otherway, then send in our beaver commandos and nuclear canoes. ;) Wait, I shouldn't have told you that. :notsure: Ahhh! The loons are after me! :sniff!: ~SDC~
I live in Toronto their team has not won since 1967 but all I hear is how great the leafs are. I can gag here everytime the leafs make it into the playoffs.
Maybe with Mike's begging at the walk of fame, and Linda Evanglista's wishes we'll finally win the cup ;) ~SDC~
Personally, I like tight clusters for maps large or bigger... If I manage to get 3 stars in one system, then my starbase's enchancement modules affect a lot of colonies :d Of course, it's only my 5th game or so, so I could be horribly messing myself up... ~SDC~
