Sadly every where GW goes he seems to get this treatment, whether you agree with him or not, these types of people are a joke, they have no answers, critise, the Likes of Iraq and Nth Korea, say they are evil, yet offer no solution, love him or hate him you have to admit GW is at least trying, and people need to realise at great danger to himself, which will stay with until either the problems stops, or he dies. I don't think this man takes terrorism lightly, and as I said whether you agree or n

ACLU is the group, American Civil Liberties Union, is the group in Question, thought I should mention this, what about the civil liberties of a majority of citizens of the US, or od civil liberties only pertain to minorities, and do other religions or for that matter atheists really care, censore what you disagree with the hand with the rest. These ae the people who jump to the defense of most cause when it comes to censorship, however they wish to sensor a group, themselves, I should add they a

What is the problem with this group in your country, first the ten commandments, now christmas trees in public. Christians have the right to celebrate christmas, get off their case, what happened to the freedom of worship you guys are supposed to have. The so called politically correct liberals of the US, really have gone too far, pedophiles are free to preech their doctrine but not christians, why cause some people are not christian. These peopl would best be termed as wankers, more corrctly a

A bit like the gyu who is alleged to have murdered 48 women in the US, even though he has already admitted he did, months ago.

So is that any different to any other company of its size, sadly busines is about market share, and market share drives profit. I may not agree, however my point is , is microsoft as bad as every one says or claims, how much is myth, how much is get rich by suing them and how much. As I said before much of what we see today in Vision is Microsoft. Of course there are many small pasty faced highschool students out there developing away on new projects, however many of these will never get off the

Best way to avoid a crumbling empire is don't build one. Useless thought I know, or build one that can stand the test of time, no answers on how either.

Actually Linux is being picked up by Business at all levels, not to Forget Governments. Also on support all main Linux Distros offer the same level of support as MS. However as far as pricing is concerned even when you do the conversion you would never purchase MS Windows for the amount you claim above (conversion to AUD that is), updgrade is usually Around the $240 mark AUD, and for professional, $440 AUD. I should also mention that to purchase most distros with docs and support is not free

Why is it that people seem to have it in for Microsoft, I have windows xp on two system and Lindows on two. Other than windows I do not use much MS Software, mainly due to the fact that I do not need ll thefeatures that Office offers , so I use Star Office, however if I needed MS Office I would use it, simple. If you don't want it don't buy it. Just make sure what you use can share file with MS. I use Lindows for te sames reason, on these machines the software is ll web based, therefore the

The recent attacks in Turkey just go to show, OBL and his cronies are not out for revenge, this is an attempt to incite hatred among Muslims against all people who do not adhere to the Orthodox version that OBL would believes to be the true path, this is born out by recent attacks against countries that whilst they may be Islamic are not Governed in the way of say Iran or Sudan. This doe not rule out revenge attacks. However it does seem that real MO is that suggested above. This is far more

Just a thought, I am presuming that the name of you site is a reference the the term average JOE USER, coincedentiall the same term in Australia would be Called JOE BLOGS. I know that this should help the world sleep peacefully, must go to bed now, just as you guys are getting up.

I think that this would be one of if the best blog site I have seen yet, and in general the standard of articles is very high, interesting and always insihtful, it's nice to a) be able to have a say, and b) hear others have their say. Not to mention the inside gaf we get on the like of MS. Thanks for this site guys, and yes I am one of the long worded guilty, especially in my replys and comments, however I am now writing all out in star office, editing out the paddingsaving as HTML them posting,

I would have to say that in some way both open source and non have all benefited from each other at some time or other, and to say one is better than the other is purely based on personal preference, as for linux, well it's a bit younger than some of its competitors, even so it is certainly catching up fast, and in many cases offers a very good alternative, why else would the business community be embracing it with open arms, and trust me they are, as well as government bodies in most countries

I don't know about the US, nut InUK, Europe and Australia, two great sings that get a great work out rare, John Lennon - "So This Is Christmas" and one which may be less known to you guys but is just as populat and worth a listen is a song by "Slade: ( 70's and 80's British Rock Group) Merry Xmas Everybody, both are great in their own way and generally positive especially the latter.

Messy Buu, you obviously have a very limited understanding of the Open Source Community at large, your comments are very broad and tend to miss the fact that while there are many in this community who are as you describe, there are many others who take open source and their commitments to it very seriously. Not to mention the fact that many fine programs have come or at least started here. Many have died, many more survive and have entered the manistream, and certainly compete well with the rest

Sadly there will always be a minority that abuse the system, that is accross the board, if we condem all becaus of the mistakes of a few then we are a very short sighted people, as in all cases in life some people will rort the system, this does not mean that the majority of people are bad, and not deserving of our help. Also with a bit of though we might find that those that have been poor long term have like many reached a point psychologocally that they have lost all hope, thus creating gener

Microsoft in essence is a software producer, and is very good at this, to a point that this is one of its main strengths, by this I mean they do not produce hardware, nor are they heavily involved in services. Sadly it is my believe that this may prove to be their Achilles heal. Microsoft relies heavily on the sales of its two main stable mates, Windows and Office, this in itself is again a strength and a weakness, it does allow them to focus on providing a good operating platform suita

I suppose one way to really find out what Americans really believe is for you to get 100% voter turnout at a Presidential Election, you guys should try it . Maybe then you would really know what the sentiment of the population really was. I suppose we will never know will we, not that many countries have compulsory voting though. I always find the best way to express who you want as you government is by doing this. That way when people want to critise a particular party or President at least

Why must some things be so difficult, I think its good that this is happening, and the reality is, all people need to make time for each other, whether they get to the horozintal ballroom dancing or not, why must every thing be so over analized, I have four boys all under ten and we still make time for each other, my wife and I that is. Good on you Draginol, and even better that you are proud to say this.

Sorry one other point Government is meant is meant to be for the people, by the people as you say the are there to provide neccessary services for the people as their representatives, they are not there to think for us and rule us, big government is not good government, and does not serve the people by telling us what to do, people need to realise that politicans are just lie the rest of us, and we should be sourcing our own solutions to life and leave them to provide the services to allow us to

Communism failed because of human nature, and failed to recoginise that you can't bring about change by not changing a system without the people behind you. The other problem is you cannot fairly or more correctly , evenly distribute wealth when you have some who are prepared to work harder than others Not to mention money and power corrupt, if the communist were serious they would have replaced the monetry system with something else. While you have money in the equation and people who are alway

Despite all the hoopla in the media about the Eu and the percieved or otherwise threat in Israel, I strongly doubt that they live in fear of Israel. I fail to see why I can critise any other group, Country and/or religion, and get no label yet to critise Isreal makes me anti semite. I am not as I am sure most peo

I agree totally Solitair, however not all countries subsidis their Exporters in fact many like the country I live in (Australia) do not give any reoief other than development funds to new start up businesses, which is not handed out that easily, Niether tarriffs or Subsidies are the answer or serve the long term good, Europe has been imposing Tarriffs since the inception of the EU, now that we have the WTO, to make use of this would only help to serve its legitimacy and bring about a mindset of
