It's already available in the game via cheat. Is that too much to ask for? From Stardock's history, I dont think so. If its simple enough and there's a demand, they could add it to a patch. But on the other hand, if its more complex, then I guess it does have to wait for an expansion. <

I use to play Guild Wars and the last expansion. I even tested Nightfall. Nightfall is pretty much more of the same. The only lag you should worry about is on your end since server side lag is unavoidable. But from what i've seen, this shouldn't be a problem. As far as picking between Faction and Nightfall, it really depends on taste. I would probably get Nightfall just because I like the new classes over the classes they have in Faction.

It's a design decision. And as far as just throwing it in, would you really play a game with multiplayer just thrown in? If you really want it that bad, there is a "cheat" to allow multiplayer in the game. Although, I believe, its only in hotseat mode. (Take turns playing on one computer) I'm not sure on how to do it, but do a search for it in the forum. You know, Master of Orion 2 has a good multiplayer.
