If I know that's the pattern, I can postpone buying expansion #2 and wait until the third expansion is released, and buy the "gold edition" set that includes both for $50, and then give a friend or sell my original game. Now, I wouldn't really do that, but the incentive is there Yes, you could do that.. But the time between expansion is usually p

Patching is a must for PC due to the nature of variety of the PC. The original game probably runs perfect on the Developer's PC. But then, because PCs can be upgraded, the problem will arise that a certain combonation, software and hardware, will affect the game performance. That is the advantage of the console. Every Xbox is exactly the same out the door. The only variation is superficial. Even the differences such as different size Hard Drives are just superficials. The Hardware

Stardock will revolutionize the way the pc gaming industry! With Galciv 2 engine, almost anything is possible. A sequal is not needed until there is a technological need for one, such as 3D hologram monitors that displays photo-realistic graphics. (over-exageration) With Galciv 2 as a model, Stardock can just release "Expansion" packs that would further the story. It would have new feature, more story advancement, and any other ideas that has not been done yet. As for the

What ship was that Justin? I played through SC2 and 3 and finished it. If your talking about the Chmmmr, i really suck with that ship. I prefer to upgrade the main ship. Oh, and did you know that a Star Control 2 is available for free and runs on windows.. Thanks to a few fans who brought it back. Check it out at this site http://sc2.sourceforge.net/ It's legitimate and free.

Hey Brad, I was wondering where you got the idea for the Dregin splitting into two factions. It seems very similar to the Star Control 2 universe where the Urquan split into two sub races, the Urquan wanting to enslave all life and the Korah (very similar name) wanting to destroy all life. Also, there was a planetary slave shield involved. I find it a bit too coincidental. Are you playing hommage to that game by any chance? (If you are, its actually pretty cool since Star

Actually, because of the stability of the platform, Galciv 2 would run good on the original xbox. I know stardock is pretty busy, maybe they can license a port version of the XBox to another company. Usually, that's how a game is ported from the PC to a console. I would even go for microtransaction to get new parts for the ship design. As long as its not unreasonable like 5 bucks to get 5 new parts. I say Xbox 360 because of the wireless controller, and I can turn off and on the mac

Stardock should release Galciv2 for the Xbox 360. I've been looking for a slow pace, take my time, game for the xbox and haven't found one I liked. With its wireless controller, i could just lounge on my couch after a hard days work.. Eat my Tv dinner and play Galciv till i fall asleep. Imagine, with a Galactic Civilization created for the XBox 360.. We'll have higher resolution, even more amazing graphics, and maybe multiplayer. If not, that's okay.. C'mon Stardock, how

GalCiv 1 was a great game during its time. The only reason to pick this game up is if you can't run Galciv 2. Otherwise, why buy a game when the sequel is clearly leaps and bounds better. Story wise, it seems to take place during the same events.

As for me, the Minor Races aren't that useless. I prefer to actually protect a few from power hungry aliens. They add story and life to universe. I wish that Minor Races would be a lot smarter than they are now. And maybe more unique diplomatic options with minor race. Such as "asking" them to become a part of your empire but they would still be independent of sort.

Lonewolf, your right.. I may have been a bit too sarcastic. Also, I agree somewhat that Halo compared to other FPS from the PC arena is pretty mediocre. Unreal 2005 is a lot better. But it is a great game for the reason that you just plug in and not worry about the other guy having a better rig that you or if your system will even run the game at a playable rate. I have both Halo games and I haven't even finish the story mode on HALO 2. BUT ANYWAY.. Why are we even talking

Hey John.. Wow.. that was taken out of context. Almost as bad as the reaction to the Pope's comment. (if you dont' know what i mean, you need to turn off that computer and watch the news, there's alot more than just playing video games.) If you read further and use some common sense, I was pointing out Wilson's error by judging a game he never played. So in turn, I turned it around on him and made a comment about him without knowing him. I guess some people can only see what's in fr

Halo 1 was still the best one. Of course as a console game, it is the best type of FPS you can find for any console system. As a PC game, there's alot of other better FPS game out there. Wilson, for not having played the game, you sure shouldn't say anything. Without having met you, I think you talk to much and really not a nice person. (Just making a point of judging something without trying it)

This thread is pretty useless. They need to replace it with something more useful. Maybe a topic about how wild racoons are taking over the street of Indianapolis. Also, this website is pretty useless. It needs to be replaced with something more informative like Why is the Purple TeleTubby living the alternate lifestyle. We're all useless and needs to be replaced. We play games on our spare time and some of us work most of the time. Maybe if we can be replaced with super ad

Dregin, Korath? One wants to enslave, the other destroy all races. OMG!!! It's Star Control 4!!!! This is almost similar to the Star Control 2 story. I LOVE IT!!! I CAN'T WAIT!!! Sorry for the caps.. I got too excited. Star Control 2 had the best space opera stories ever. Now who knows, will GalCiv 2 surpass it? I hope so! *Jumps around the room for joy* I haven't felt this happy since, well... I played Star Control 2. So, when can i pre-order. I'm gonna

Soccer.. HAH!!! nothing more fruity than a bunch of men in daisy dukes bumping crotches "pretending" to get the ball. Unless your french.. now that in itself is fruitier than fruit loops... Before you go all anti-american... I was just kidding bout the soccer/futbol joke, not the french one. Anyways, I WAS suppose to go to Germany and watch the world cup, but a few of my friends bailed out on me. Didn't want to go alone, might end up in some VunderSex house and... *shivers* ever s

I'm planning on making a total mod on all alien races. I have had this idea of a story line in my head of a human galactic civilization. As it turns out, man is indead alone in our own galaxy (as we know of since we've only settled 1/4 of the galaxy. A human galactic empire has just collapsed after the royal family has been assassinated. Add to that, an electronic virus is spreading throughout the systems either destroying the machines, collapsing the galactic civilization communication netw

I think you would enjoy it in my opinion. Not really too long since you can press turn till something happens. Myself, I play this game in short 1 to 2 hours. Sometimes, even less. I log on, play a few turns, then save and play again later. But be careful, you might get the "One more turn." sickness.
