You might try leaving your email addy and message on each wallpaper you want to use. Each author will see it there the fastest.
It took the author's alot of time to make the walls. Simply email each author. Most people have their email addy's in their profiles. Most people will respond pretty quickly. Some may not.

You need to get each individual author's permission. I am pretty sure that most evryone will allow you. If you don't get permission we will hunt you down. Don't mess with the community spirit around here. You will lose horribly.

Under display properties/ appearances, set the skin to "windows classic" then the skins you download will be viewable. In order to apply a skin you still need to have windows classic set.
chaz wasn't speaking for me in this situation. If I did think something screwy was going on with the mods you would have heard from me by now.
What would the downside be to making the ratings and the rater(?) visible to the author. Maybe it's been tried before. Dunno, just a thought.

If you don't know how to do it , I could change it for you. I think I would need permission first though. I am not sure if something that small requires permission or not. Maybe someone can clarify. Or you could email treetog and ask permission.
I am not sure how it all works, perhaps someone could enlighten me. When they say, This is not a template - It is our own design, what are they trying to say? Noone can copy the layout? It's just kinda wierd that they announce that message all over the site and are so direct about it. It's almost as if they are taunting people.

Well lets put it this way. I bought a new pc last year. Brought it home. Messed around a few hours. Deleted the default bootskin. Returned the pc to the store for new one because the old one was now broken. Don't tell HP that please. [Message Edited]
