And this happens with all skins?
Neil Banfield
The trial version of WB does not support per pixel (transparent) borders on any skins that are not included with WB. Thats why aura works for you but the others do not. It sounds like your friends have purchased WB.
I will say it again. Trial versions cannot do this. I have a trial right here and its skinning perfectly. This can only happen if you downloaded a copy of our software illegally (copyright infringement) and installed a crack to bypass the activation system (illegal)
A new WindowFX is under development
I am going to assume the skin is painting ok. If you open taskmanager, what app does it show using all the cpu? Also have you installed anything new today?
The shareware version of WB 4.6 can be downloaded from here http://storage.stardock.com/files/windowblinds4_public.exe
The left one is the trial yes. Works for 60 days.
Is this with all screensavers, or one particular one (and if so which one)?
www.windowblinds.net Download links.
Did you reboot?
If you have installed a pirate copy (AKA cracked) version of WindowBlinds 5, please be aware that the crack is faulty and WindowBlinds will cease to function correctly on your computer. To fix this you just need to uninstall WB and if you wish install a purchased copy of WB, or the trial. To uninstall, you can either wait for your computer to login, unload WB (either using wbconfig, display properties, or from a command prompt calling WBLOAD UNLOAD) and then uninstall WB.
Could you post a screenshot of your menu corners issue? The favorites menu doesn't support transparency, so no rounded corners in that of course if thats what you mean. The unskinned console windows is not a bug. The feature was incompatible with the new WB5 features, so its been removed until it can be redesigned. Hopefully for 5.1, but we will see.
It looks like the problem is the fonts for the taskbar are too big. I think your best bet is to download skinstudio and import the taskbar from the skin you want into kols skin.
Joereynolds89: Thats a warez copy. So far a number of people have said they have legit copies, yet none of them have contacted me as requested and none of them show up as customers in our databases.
Dace K: Please contact me on [email protected] letting me know what e-mail address you registered WindowBlinds using. Warez versions of WindowBlinds are the only versions affected by this. Paying customers or trial users can continue to use WindowBlinds as normal. Its easy to remove a warez copy of WB. Boot into safe mode and uninstall WB, or hold down ctrl at login & uninstall. Or wait while it logs in and then unlo
No it isn't. Its a case of the cracked versions of WB5 breaking due to bugs in the crack. Paying customers & trial users have no problems.
Please post the information from the System Information page in WBconfig here. Thanks
You need to tell WB to not apply the wallpaper from the skin. This can be done from wbconfig on the basic settings page.
There is some positive news for you. We have reproduced the favorites menu issue you reported. It seems the very first time one of those menus opens the borders skin perfectly, but after that, the borders remain unskinned, but the contents still skin fine. I hope to have a fix for that implemented soon.
The only way to fix that is to buy a copy (or use the trial version). Put simply, the crack used on WB5 isn't working right.
Console window fix? Regarding your speedstep issue, we have been totally unable to reproduce anything similar.
Night Train: The root cause is probably different on yours. There are a number of reasons that could happen, but in this case I believe its due to it being a pirate copy. Link632: Are you saying you are using the shareware version or are a paying customer?
It looks like you are using a warez copy of WindowBlinds which appears to be corrupt in some way. Its certainly a registered version but you do not appear in our customer database that I can see. Uninstall WindowBlinds, reboot, run a virus scan and install a licensed version of WindowBlinds (or the trial) and everything should be fine. Its only $20 afterall! If I am wrong, then sorry and please contact support@
Tofino: Thats great news. We will install that on a PC here and see if we can at least get WB to detect it and prompt the user about the problem. Obviously an app which is blocking registry writes should be telling you about the attempts really and ideally giving you the option to approve it. Anyone else have a problem with a 32 bit XP?
I curious why you want to know this?
