You will still get menu transparency, start menu transparency and taskbar transparency. Just not window frame transparency.

Candice Barbe: When it starts to become slow, please open taskmanager, go to the processes tab. Then on the view menu pick Select Columns, tick USER Objects, GDI Objects & Handle Count. Then press ok. Now does any one app running have a high number of any of those?
Izzee: As the messages tell you in the UI, we do not allow per pixel on non included skins in the shareware version. The idea is people should buy it if they like it and being able to use other per pixel skins is an incentive!
What happens when you run wbconfig? It should run in the trial version too.
WB 4.6 did not timeout after 30 days, though menu skinning was disabled after 30 days. WB 5.0 has a hard timeout after 60 days.
How are you sending the text snippets? I have installed it here and had no problems with using it to paste snippets into notepad.
You will need to uninstall WB5 before reinstalling WB 4.6. Please consider buying WindowBlinds if you like it. The shareware version of WB 4.6 for example is limited to 30 days usage according to the EULA.
This is normal. Additional titlebar buttons like that are not compatible with per pixel skins. You may be able to click where the buttons should be to use them, but they will never paint.
Opening a per app skinned app should not crash any other apps. Does dreamweaver have a per app skin too? We are aware of an issue where if you have 2 apps running with different per app skins (if they use the same skin then it does not happen), and then close one of them, the other one gets corrupted graphics. This has been resolved internally & the next WB build will resolve this.
This is now resolved. Additionally I have set it so clipmates menus are ignored by WB as clipmate is self skinned & its menus look wrong with WB skinning them as well. There will be a 5.01 update either later today, or most likely early next week.
Can you try the following 1) Unload WB 2) Go to display properties & set the skin to classic 3) Go to display properties & set the skin to Windows XP style 4) Go to display properties & set the skin to classic Now see if WB uses lots of cpu.
I have reproduced this (I assume you mean clipmate 7, not 8) and am looking into exactly why it happens. At first glance it appears to be due to how it does its toolbar. It is obtaining the wrong theme part for its toolbar which is confusing WB as only the taskbar itself ever asks for that part.
Thats certainly not normal. So it all worked fine with the final RC and then broke with the release build? Have you tried uninstalling WB & reinstalling it?
If you e-mail [email protected] they should be able to reset the limit for you.
FYI if you have problems you can always boot into safe mode.
We will look into this. It may be a colour scheme choice that causes it.
It sounds like Clipmate is constantly sending out messages which is telling WB that the wallpaper has changed or the taskbar size has changed. We will look into this & see if we can workaround it.
Is it explorer using all the cpu? DO you have activewords installed on your PC?
Run msconfig. Find a .cmd thats running at startup. Remove it, reboot. If WB is currently installed then your first login will take a few mins (As its stalled wait for the activation screen). Then enter your information in the activation screen & it should all work fine.
What does it say on the System Information page in Wbconfig?
Try running wbinstall64 -install Then reboot.
Open the cyclops directory and delete *.wb4 Reapply the skin.
That is not normal. What other apps are you running at the time? Can you try closing some & see if it helps?
Could you download stardock smart exception ( http://storage.stardock.com/files/smartexception.exe ) and run that. Then get the crash to happen again. Hopefully in the smart exception directory there should be a .cra file created. If you could e-mail this to [email protected] it would be most helpful. Likewise with rundll32 crashes if you have those.
chris: do you have activewords running? Also what process uses all the cpu? Do you mean wbconfig uses 100% cpu when you manually run it or ?
