Excellent, we'll go with the Radisson Hotel then. We can get a shuttle to the hotel from the airport and one back again, when we're flying to SLC. That's a 1 hour drive according to the website, so that would be nice to have included. That'll cost us about $1.000 total including full breakfast. I've been thinking about the Museum of Modern Arrrrrrt, that's probably a place we'll go, but yeah, there's so much to see over there. Guess we'll take it a day at a time and see how much we can

Thanks for the tips so far guys! We'll make a list on paper and see how much we have time for. Change of plans: We'll be in MI June 29th to July 2nd and visit Stardock that monday and fly to NY at night. Then on to SLC July 7th. We'll only fly to and from Newark airport, so we can explore NY from that area. We'll stay away from taxis, probably walk around a lot, I like that, but I

This summer I'm going to USA for 2 weeks on vacation. My girlfriends dad turns 60, so he's taking us over there to visit some family they have in Salt Lake City. But first my girlfriend and I are taking some days for ourself in New York, if SD is open July 5-6, we'll drop by there too before continuing to SLC. As it is now, we'll probably fly to Newark Airport on June 29. We'll need to find a hotel near La Guardia since that's where we'll be flying from when we leave again. Wha

The username in the start menu doesn't appear the same way in Vista as it did in XP. In Vista, the username appears in the right panel with the other textual links.

Neil: I usually work over an old skin, make the graphics and name them something different everytime. I'm not that good with naming consistency. And I import png's to SkS, so if I need to replace a line with filename.tga to filename.png, I do that in the code. I really don't use the dropdown menu for images.

Brainiac - you can kill the tooltips by pressing alt. I have one grief with SkinStudio, and that is when I edit the code in SkS. If I look at the code and switch to a different image I want to replace the file name for that file, SkS jumps to the line of code where the previous image I worked on is. That means I must select the image in the tree view again to access the code bit and paste the new filen

I think most people aren't interested or find they don't have the need for it. When I show my stuff to my mom ie. she says it's pretty and fun, and while she uses her computer often, she has no interest in changing the gui, as it already does for her, what she sees fit. You can compare it to other customization too, some like doing stuff to their cars, some are happy just the way it is from the factory. Some people enjoy expensive furniture with unique design, some are happy with standa

Not many has been made yet, as people still needs to get the hang around the new bits. For skinners out there, take a look in the WindowBlinds installation folder and look in the folder called Vista Images. Those are the images you can skin currently with WB 5.5, the .uis file contains the code you need to paste into your own .uis or .sss file. I did one with a Vista substyle you can find here: https://www.wincustomize.com/skins.aspx?skinid=6079&libid=1 And MikeB314 di

I usually grow tired of only doing one thing, that's why working on a suite is more fun, as you can jump from one element to the other if you're bored with it. I like the variation + it gives me full control of the overall look and feel. There are other things that would be much more fun to skin than what I usually do that I just can't do on my own, like modern Winamp skins, WMP or DesktopX media players. Think media players for DX would be a good place to start as people use different

I only have minor experience with 3D. My old job gave me a 3D course, as one of our clients is one of the only 3D animation schools over here. That course lasted a few months and wasn't very intense, but we did some funny stuff, like a burning asteroid hitting the atmosphere, an underwater scene, a bottle of coke on a table, a scorpion (or what was supposed to look like one) and a face (this being the hardest - we all created freaks that day). All types of modeling like box and spline - all of i

I spoke with Wacom a few weeks ago and they indicated that once the graphic drivers are fully developed the released drivers for the Intous3 tablets will work great. Nice to hear that. I really am handicapped with a mouse after using a Wacom for 5-6 years now. Funny thing is though, I used the regular XP driver in the second beta and the Wacom worked perfect, maybe I should try that one again and see if it can do some magic for now. <img src="http://ima

I'm dual booting XP and Vista. What still holds me away from Vista entirely are bugs in PS in Vista, lousy Wacom drivers and lacking Stardock software that makes working easier (I need Enhanced Dialog for Vista). I turned of UAC, it was a horrible experience with it on, so now that it's off I'm happier. Overall experience is great though, my Athlon 4000+ takes the experience index down to 4.2 while the other ratings range from 5 to 5.9, pretty good for this setup which

Assuming it took somewhere around 20-30 hours (and still not done) for the artist I say $500 is a fair value. If we have to go through a number of more revision, sketches, productions, we may consider paying a bit more. Also included in the price is business card design, letter heads, rx forms, and SIMPLE animation of the logo for our website. There is no way in hell we are paying $500 for a mere image. So your argument for $2500 does not stand in our experience. I thi

Got Ultimate running now. Works like a charm, except Photoshop being more slow than on XP. I should be getting some kinda skin done and working for Vista I suppose, gonna have to figure out how to make it look good on both XP and Vista.

Ohhh, icons right now, I need to roll out a couple of updates on Liquidox and perhaps Encoded, need to redo the website again, getting tired of it already, lots of stuff to do, now that I finished painting the kitchen ceiling.
