Neil, For some reason Deskscapes64.exe isn't running properly after a restart of explorer.exe. Something must be blocking it. If I go to the Task Manager > Details, it says it's running, but if I "End Task" there, and then go to "C:\Program Files (x86)\Stardock\DeskScapes\Deskscapes64.exe" and launch it, the desktop goes black and DeskScapes then loads. Or, if I Shift + Right-click on the deskt

I updated to DeskScapes2026_26.0.1.0-j54-Setup yesterday and am still experiencing the explorer restart issue not starting DeskScapes. I have been searching the internet and my system for clues, but have not found any solution. If I understood what happens when Shift + Right-click on the desktop is executed, maybe I could narrow down where the issue originates. I will add that my setup has not changed from DeskScapes 11.0.2.0, and this did not happen then. Something has change

This is not what you are asking, but if you have "Show time and date in the System tray" turned on, you can add two additional clocks in the Notification panel. Once these are set, you can turn off the time and date in the system tray if you like. Go to Settings > Time & Language > Date & time > Show time and date in the System tray; and if "Show time and date in the System tray" if turned on, you can add two additional clocks to the Notification panel.

Just read an article in Windows Latest By Mayank Parmar - May 31, 2026 In the article he talks about Microsoft replacing all the legacy dialog boxes being with WinUI 3 based dialogs. "Microsoft says it’s working on a major redesign of all existing legacy dialog boxes in Windows 11, and it’s going to be more than just a dark theme. Right now, Windows barely has modern (WinUI 3)-based pop-ups or dialogs, as most of the operating system falls back to the legacy side. This will

Junior, That's a scarry moment for sure! There is no requirement to activate secure boot for Windows 10, so I would just let it be. There probably hasn't been a BIOS update for that motherboard in quite a while. I built my machine in 2017 and the OEM has not provided an update since 2022. As long as you are vigilant with security and keep Windows 10 updated you should be fine. MY wife's computer, a DELL from 2015 died recently and we replaced it with one of those mini PC's. It

Doc, I have updated my BIOS many times without incident, just make sure to create an Image Backup before you update. It's possible the new certificates are already present in the update. Check with your OEM for the BIOS to see if they are included. Also, it just may require Secure Boot to be turned on the the certificates to be updated by Windows Update, but if you haven't had Secure Boot turned on, you probably don't need the new certificates anyway.

Tried doing the purge and reinstall as you suggested. Same issue is still present. It is interesting though. After restarting explorer.exe and then right-clicking the desktop and selecting "Show more options," DeskScapes starts and the DeskScapes icon appears in the System tray. After restarting the computer, DeskScape

I am starting a separate thread for this topic because the quotes were getting ridiculously long in the "DeskScapes 2026 Release Feedback Thread." Here we won't need to use quotes. When I restart explorer.exe, DeskScapes 2026 doesn't restart for some reason. Following the explorer.exe restart, if I right-click the desktop and select "Show more options," then DeskScapes starts. I had thought it was just the Info Pane, but I did a test by creating a Playlist of three static
I have no idea how to resolve this issue. It's very confusing. When I check on it, it says my computer has the old Boot certificate but how do I update it?
Windows 10 or 11? Full version from winver.exe? Windows Update should automatically install
